2.1. Switching between UIs is no longer as smooth and has a noticeable delay. 2.2. Switching between UIs can some times hang, so I've seen UIs get stuck mid-transition. Both UIs are functional at this point. I had these UI bugs from the very beginning. No matter the setting, the menu would always stutter as hell, especially just after opening. Opening / switching menus was never fully smooth. What's more, closing it caused some additional stutter and my screen would turn white for a second. It's funny because right now these problems are mostly gone after the patch, lol. I went for shadows on medium, lighting on low, textures at ultra, rest at high settings and so far I have 60 FPS most of the time with super smooth menu transitions on GTX 970.

I haven't experienced the problem that the OP has stated, but here are some of the problems I have been noticing since patch. 1. Alt+Tabbing turns on "windowed" mode, even if the setting is still on "full screen". You can't go back to full screen without restarting the game. Have you tried ALT+ENTER, that's the usual combination to switch between window/fullscreen. Pretty sure it was working at least before the update, but I switched to windowless fullscreen, since it reduced the crashes I had when landing on Nexus after a certain trigger point in the storyline.

I experienced this and fixed it very easily. Just go to the menu > screen settings and switch to Borderless, accept, switch back to Full Screen, accept. Your game will return to full screen mode No need to restart the game and wait through the loading screens.

Wel i re installed the game and it works now. There must be some lingering trash from 1.0.4 after the patch for some of us. What i did is un install trough origin then go to the document folder of bioware deleted the andromeda directory and looked in the origin games folder for any trace of andromeda there and deleted it.
re installed and i didnt get the black screen of doom anymore

I would go into the documents/bioware/mass effect andromeda/ folder and try moving all of those folders and their files on to the desktop. Launch the game and move them back afterwards. This will obviously make it seem like your saves are gone while the folders are away, but in case there's some config files in there somewhere that might affect whether your game boots properly. Agreed good place to start.

I fixed my issue, and from what I've read, this may help with the black screen loading issue. You have to delete the "patch" subdirectory in your installation folder. Once that's done, force another update. This time the download was larger, and patching also took about three times as long. Clearly the first go around was missing something and just didn't apply right. Thank you! This worked for me :-) Now for another problem; all the dialogue seems to be gone

Think I may have found another issue. Skill choices aren't saving on my companions. I've applied the same skill to Cora about half a dozen times already, and every time I look in the UI, it's been unlearned and the skill points refunded. Didn't have any issues with companion skills before the update, so I'm guessing maybe something got borked.

Switching the settings back-forth had worked for me (--->borderless fulscreen-->fulscreen), no need to restart the game.
Switching the UIs (I assume you're talking about KBM-gamepad, no?) works just fine. Although I had a strange feeling that they had shifted the left stick sensitivity somehow - I prefer the gamepad for the 'non-combat' parts, and running seemed slightly off with 1.05.

Keyboard and Mouse only. I meant switching menus, since they're different interfaces.

This is why some devs want to stop developing for pc. Riiiiight. Because that particular phenomenon is limited strictly to one platform. Put down the console Kool-Aid and step away from the bar. You've had too much tonight. Bugs happening? No of course not but what I said is still true. Many of the issues listed here are due to compatibility issues with certain hardware.

Plus imagine all the mail they get so they have to weed out the idiots.

Well EA marked this "unable to launch" as "solved" so I guess it's just my imagination that Origin won't launch the game.
Already tried all these proposed solutions on EA answer and its not working, only option left is to uninstall everything and wait 3 days to re-download, in case it just might decide to work.
Fuck EA seriously

Fuck EA seriously Did you try deleting the "patch" subdirectory and forcing another update as mentioned above? It appears to be working fairly reliably to resolve that issue. Shame on EA/Bioware for releasing this patch without what appears to be proper QA and integrity testing. I haven't seen a patch break a game in such a large way for more than a few players in quite some time. Either the patch itself is busted, or the method with which it downloads and installs is (hence why deleting the patch directory seems to resolve numerous issues).

I read a solution that i hadn't tried yet and gave it a go, and it worked! Finally managed to launch the game, apparently the C++ library was the issue, somehow the patch messed it up. You need to uninstall all your 2015 visual c++, clean your registry for any traces left, then install this one: www.sts-tutorial.com/sites/downloadCenter.php?cRedistributable2015Other solutions mentioned are: - delete patch folder and/or andromeda.exe - then right click the game icon and "update game" or "repair" - put origin in offline mode and try launching the game None of that worked for me, just putting it here in case it helps someone. Also keep an eye out for user replies on the EA answer site, those are the only ones that are worth anything.

Thank Patrick Batman to suggest this option Before this I delete patch folder to re download patch. then I can start game properly. Next I will try to talk with PeeBee and Jaal. Let see their bug still a thing or not.
