Hi there space peolpe
i just completed MEa and wnder what is next?
what do you think we will have? after story and mp dlc's? an entirely new game, like set in another galaxy or cluster or a sequel? or not sequel, but an independent adventure?
this game did not satisfy me, i had low expectations, but still, this game does not feel "ME" enough
the Kett are still out there, we must stop them somehow, right?
what do you want?

Milky Way is fucked, let's not go back there. I want to do a time skip, and give the game setting enough time to plausibly to evolve into something that's more populated, cosmopolitan and more than just a unsettled frontier

More clusters in Andromeda would be my guess. Whether we continue with Ryder or not is up to Bioware, theres mixed opinions of him and his crew, some people like em, others really hate em.

Probably other clusters in Andromeda with the same set up, but with better CC and animations instead. Of course, would be interesting to see how the forum reacts if the same type story and everything. The chaos from it will be fun to watch.

I never quite understand the "this doesn't feel like Mass Effect to me" argument. Whether one likes the game or not, it's kind of hard to take one's remarks seriously when Andromeda literally has all of the ingredients that make a Mass Effect game. It may not be your favorite, but to say it doesn't feel like "Mass Effect" is a bit perplexing.
As far as the answer to the OP, there will be a sequel. BioWare will not make the same mistake of announcing a trilogy ahead of time. Instead, they are going to take it one game at a time and make sure they do a good job of maintaining continuity without any forced retcons. I will be surprised if Ryder does not return for one or two more games (perhaps even more than that).

I am saying this because it may not feel like it to you with your definition of what a Mass Effect game should be. According to someone else though, it is exactly what a Mass Effect game should be. For the Montreal studio, this could be what they want Mass Effect to be. Right or wrong doesn't matter really when it comes this subjective area. Just be prepared for the future franchise if they continue this path, and not go the way you want it.

Did you play Mass Effect 1? 2. Every Mass Effect had "boring repetitive fetch quests." 3. You do realize that "Mass Effect" explains how most of the science works in the franchise? Relays are mentioned in the game. 4. Did you miss the final assault between the Kett forces and the Tempest and Remnant fleet? 5. Define "meaningful choices." We have a lot of choices that can have several consequences. DLC and the sequel may make those consequences more apparent. 6. Beauty is subjective. 7. Vetra is rather badass. Avitus Rix is not too bad either. 8. Does Drack and Morda ring a bell? 9. There are cutscenes everywhere... 10. Being a "kid" is a bad thing? They are in their early 20s. 11. Okay? Mass Effect has never had great facial animations. 12. There's plenty of music. It's just not as memorable (or used as much) as the OT soundtrack. 13. Did you play Insanity in ME1-3? MEA is by far the most challenging as those games were cakewalks. Be honest with me. Are you trolling at this point? Half your answers sound like a troll.

Ditto on the non ME feeling. What do I want? As it is, the future of this series doesn't bode well, imo. I'm presently looking at it with a blank eye; no excitement, no anticipation. In answer to your questions. They would have to find a writer / creator for a new game. One with inspiration and vision. Likely? *sceptical* Sequel : If the writers want to pull on the Kett line, they would have to come up with how the Kett travelled to the cluster. I doubt it's a mass relay. It's probably some other mode of travel. If so, the A.I. is FUR because they have no military fleet. They're fewer in numbers and toothless. But since it's mentioned the Kett were out of contact with the Imperial homeworld, this scenario is less likely. If the Kett are using some sort of faster conventional means, then the A.I. have a chance to grow and build. If they fail to build their offense / defense capabilities, then I'd say they deserve to die. While the building is going on, they'd have to consider the feasibility of going to other clusters. Again, no mass relays. So they could possibly create a new range of travel capability off the Remnant tech or find something they could use on Meridian. In which case, they would have to send teams to investigate the nearest clusters. Explore and seek habitable planets, new types of resources, other races they could make contact with and any intelligence on the Kett.

ME1's open worlds had way less to do than the ones in MEA. MEA's world's changed based on your actions and had alot of main story missions & side quests. ME1's fetch quests were literally, find this writing or noble gas or medal. MEA's fetch quests are some of the more interesting I've done because they can start off as something that seems so straightforward and then twist or they add some nice world building. MEA has Mass Effect drive cores & biotics I'd argue that MEA has more meaningful choices than ME1 because in ME1 you had to wait until the next game to find out the consequences of your choices, in MEA most of the consequences appear in game. They determine who are the other Pathfinders are, if the Korgan start to trust the Nexus again, who is in charge of Kadara, your relationship with the Angara. During my first playthrough of ME1 I'd no idea which of my choices were important because most of them didn't really resolve in ME1. Attractiveness is subjective, I find Peebee & Lexi attractive Who is the badass Turian in ME1? Not Garrus, he doesn't get badass to ME2. Saren or Nihlus? Vetra & Rix are both pretty badass in my book. No Violent Krogan? there is Drack who is at least as violent as Wrex and then all the Krogan enemies you fight. Who were all the violent Krogan in ME1? Not sure what this means - you want all the action in cutscenes? Well not Drack, Cora, or Vetra who have more experience than Wrex, Ashley and Garrus did at the start of ME1, so I guess you mean Ryder, which is fair enough. That is kinda the point though. ME1 also had bad facial animations Can't disagree with this. eh the Kett are the organic Borg, that is terrifying, how can you not be terrified by that?

You have other AAA animators pointing out the failures of ME:A facial animation systems(and other systems outside of animation), not to mention, there isn't a single positive critic review that doesn't list them as a negative. And while Beauty might be subjective, 100+ Asari females with Lexi's face, is not.

I find it funny that someone makes a 12 point list on how ME:A didn't feel like ME and didn't mention the (IMO) one single thing that changed the most from the Trilogy, the huge shift in tone from the ever serious and gloomy Trilogy to the almost comical, full of levity of ME:A. It goes to show how different the definition of "feels like Mass Effect" is to everyone I guess.

If feels like the first Act of a longer story. There;s clearly more to come, and I'm very happy about that.

Interestingly enough, I´d like to see more everyday personal stuff from the crew. Really little things like Drack cooking (it´s hinted he is kind of a chef), Vetra and her issues with a teenager (boyfriends!!!), Cora actually gardening or similar elements.
Why? Well, Andromeda as of now can easity get into the frontier narrative that makes genres like the Western what it is. All those little elements can create an interesting tension between a bunch of people who want to lead more or less normal lives with the pressure of not being able to do so (kett, tensions between populations...).

If they do bring the Ryder's back I hope they actually let you be a Pathfinder in the next game. See a new cluster, actually be the first person on the ground, actually make a true first contact and try to figure out ways you can live together. Determine suitable areas of a planet to settle in rather than having the game say start an outpost here, meaning someone has already done that work.
You didn't get any of that in this game, and that was what I was expecting. Planets already had people living on them, Angarans were already living with Nexus/former Nexus people. On one planet people had already faced the Kett and drove them from the planet. Honestly, exiles were handling things better than the Initiative and their Pathfinders, which made no sense to me.

It's completely up to BioWare where the next game will go, but what i would like to see:
- Different playable races, like in Inquisition - it was really nice to see that people behave different when i was playing Elf. In ME i really would like to play as a Salarian. Bit bored playing human all the time, as they are so many different races around. - Full control of my teammates. In Andromeda i didn't really care who is in my ground-team, they do whatever they want so what's the point ? Same with their equipment, i want to decide what armors or what gun's they will be using. - Instead of having 6 big planets half empty, i prefer 4 with more content. Quality over quantity. - Bring different writers with fresh ideas. It will be nice to see more personal, smaller story like Hawke in DA2/DA3. Not every game have to finish with big space battle, not always it has to be about saving everyone around. - Tougher and meaningful choices. Something more personal than saving or sacrificing some unknown Krogans... I could only hope that one day, in one of your games, at the point of no return, i will have to decide for example between saving my sister or my already chosen LI... that will be something. Virmire in a hard version. - I want some really memorable moments as it was in the trilogy. God, i miss so much those moments... Biggest let down of Andromeda. - Soundtrack. Need to comeback. Those magic moments from ALL your games been always followed by a great music in the background. Andromeda doesn't have it.

Mass Effect - Battlefront/filed. If BW really wants to keep the RPG elements afloat, outsource the game development to EU.

There was a thread I posted awhile ago asking what is Mass Effect to them, and all the answers were different which one would expect. I certainly hope they do make themselves happy. 'Cause each time a new ME title is launched, a little part of me inside will die.

7. Vetra is rather badass. Avitus Rix is not too bad either. Hum....................... yes and no. I mean, yes, Vetra is badass (but her sister very annoying), but Avitus or Kandros (you forget him) really lack of background even if they are good characters (I should certainly read the comics with Kandros but, sorry, I base what I write on the game only). I expect A LOT more from them on the next game. And well, about turians in MEA, that's it.... I don't remember any other important turians... O_o Also they missed an opportinity to create a really great mission with their missing ark .... We had so many serious badassery on the turian side in the trilogy *look at her own avatar* well, Nihlus for a start (and the guy lived only 30 minutes), Garrus obviously, Saren, Victus and his poor son, Pallin, Chellick, Sparatus ... I really feel a huge difference, and it's the same for the Asari, one of my friend (huge asari fan) told me he thinks they are just the shadow of themselves... Well, everybody may have different feelings about the game, that's true, I personally have mixed feelings about plenty of things, but I easily understand why so many people have troubles with this game. BTW, is it me or turians have a weird problem with their legs ? I watched images of the trilogy and turians stand straights usually, their legs are not curving like in MEA.... each time I see Kandros I have the feeling he will fall on the floor Finished last night (90 hours) with default Sara Ryder. If feels like the first Act of a longer story. There;s clearly more to come, and I'm very happy about that. Same here ! I finished yesterday night ! XD I also think it's obviously just a start BUT even if I'm happy if they continue the journey, they have IMO a lot of things to fix on the next game... narration, musics, glitches etc.......

1. Did you play Mass Effect 1? 2. Every Mass Effect had "boring repetitive fetch quests." 3. You do realize that "Mass Effect" explains how most of the science works in the franchise? Relays are mentioned in the game. 3. Did you miss the final assault between the Kett forces and the Tempest and Remnant fleet? 4. Define "meaningful choices." We have a lot of choices that can have several consequences. DLC and the sequel may make those consequences more apparent. 5. Beauty is subjective. 6. Vetra is rather badass. Avitus Rix is not too bad either. 7. Does Drack and Morda ring a bell? 8. There are cutscenes everywhere... 9. Being a "kid" is a bad thing? They are in their early 20s. 10. Okay? Mass Effect has never had great facial animations. 11. There's plenty of music. It's just not as memorable (or used as much) as the OT soundtrack. 12. Did you play Insanity in ME1-3? MEA is by far the most challenging as those games were cakewalks. Be honest with me. Are you trolling at this point? Half your answers sound like a troll. The OP's right, if anything you are a troll. You have other AAA animators pointing out the failures of ME:A facial animation systems(and other systems outside of animation), not to mention, there isn't a single positive critic review that doesn't list them as a negative. And while Beauty might be subjective, 100+ Asari females with Lexi's face, is not. I don't see any trolling. The funny thing is that the list you're responding to is responding to a list that could be seen as borderline unreasonable on some numbers.
