I was chatting with my friends about stuffs we want to see in next andromeda instalment.
Despite of what haters say, I personality think the game is great. The problem is that BW did not polish it enough. However they are already releasing the patches to fix these issues. As BW said in the advertisement of the game, the theme of the new Andromeda, is the exploration. I think they have done pretty good job to establish the ground work for semi-open world style RPG. Given that theme of the new instalment would still stay in exploration side, my friends and i have some suggestions to reinforce this theme further in either DLC or next instalment.
In my opinion, BW should really experiement with upcoming dlcs to improve gameplay mechanics.
1. Better Exploration
- More realistic planet wild life - Natural life cycle to animals/ It will be better to see creature behaving life actual animals (ie. feed or sleep like those from Horizon Zero dawn). Don't make all animals hostile to you as well.
- Different types of animals- different ways of dealing with them - this can add in some hunting/ capture or even taming quests as well as resourse gathering.
- Day/night cycle.
- Deadlier and more diversed environmental hazards - Rather than just affecting life support gauge the environmental hazards should have distinct effect - Eg. Extreme cold that affects neural/biotic implants, Sand storms that limit vision, Swamps that limit the charactor/nomad's movement, EMP field that mess up the weapon aiming or nomad control, - This also should introduce different gears and weapon upgrades to buy or research in order to adept to harzardous situation. - I.e Thermal visions, heat insulators etcs
Also you should have ability to manipulate these hazardous situation to use it against enemies.
- Different ways to clear these hazard rather than just activating the vault- This can gives more quest options rather than general fetch quests,
- The effect of environment hazard that affects difficulty of missions - ie. infiltrating into enemy base under sand storm or heavy fog which gives stealth advanages. Or Dealing with enemies who have all the right gears to fight in certain environment while you are ill equipped to deal with such situation.
-More Hidden lores and Special gears to loot (one and only kind stuff). - Optionals missions to unlock hidden crews or squad mates who give advantage to tackle certain environmental hazards or certain type of enemies/ wildlifes. - like recueing a scientist crew can give you reserch options to craft EMP shielding gears or Animal lures.
2. More diverse quest options - related to exploration
- Different ways of clearing environmental hazards.
- Wildlife hunting, studying, capturing missions - For resource gathering or even taming some to use for settlement defence.
- Sandbox approaches to open world style missions- e.g You get to sabotage or create diversion while assaulting enemy base. Or infiltrate while using the planet's environment to you advange.
- BW always have been strong with Rail style missions. ME2, 3 missions and Royalty missions from MEA are the proofs. So add more of these rather than adding endless 'search and scan' side quests.
- Some James Bond style missions like Original ME's Katsumi Goto missions.
- Since we have nomad - Death race style racing missions.
- Upgrading and Defending settlement missions - which is tied to story - Just don't make it like endless quests from Fallout 4's Preston Garvey's mission.
- Hijack a vehicle and escape missions
3. More Andromedan Aliens and diverse enemies.
- New species of Andromedan Aliens - We really should move away from Milky way.
- Enemies using squad tactics based on their classes. - Rather than bullet sponges with big guns, BW should concentrate more on enemy combination. And a certain group of enemies should be able to execute power combos to players too.
- More heavy stuffs such as hover tanks and mechs or Beast riding calvaries.
- Air supports.
Personal suggestions.
- Please add other Ryder as squad mate.
- Original ME style Squad command options.
- 4th Power Slot - just for singleplayer
- Since Andromeda is more like SW - New Hope Andromeda 2 can be darker and more personal like Empire Strike's back or ME2 stories. - Big choices with consequences - Squad mates either - die/live/ betray / or even get exalted to becomes one of the chief enemy.
- The choices that actually have an impact to the survival of entire outpost.
- Huge Space or ground combats.

1. Better player customization.
2. Choice of squad armor and weapons (ME 2 lesson learnt?).
3. No forced coloured weapons via mods. Give us the ability to customize our weapons looks and decals.
4. Tone down the social justice stuff.Love the idea but it's affecting it abit.
5. Ryder twin as team mate.
6. Proper control over team including power usage.
7. MEA was heavily pushed towards a paragon sided hero. At worse you got a few grey area choices. Give us more renegade style play. I.E to stop :::::: son from becoming a threat allow us to kill him off with the base.
8. Emails to be done via menu linked through sam implant or stations.
9. Allow us to board the Tempest without leaving a planet.
10. Give us more crew like Zaeed from ME2.
11. Choices that actually matter in the game and not just for an email or etc. Played the game twice over so far doing every choice and finding out very little changes.
12. Take your time and really give it a good polish before release. I will happily pay any amount almost for a good Mass Effect game.
13. Learn from others I.E Witcher 3 should of been the best way to show how even side quests should be very interesting. Don't do stuff like the (Task) stuff for filler as games should be fun and not work.
14. More dark like the original set because MEA has this very almost saturday morning cartoon feel to it.
15. Multiplayer should always start with alot more maps considering what you could pull from single play. As well as i was hoping for personal customization of characters including male or female.
Would still happily pay 100s for the boxes for weapons just not for set characters.
Other than that MEA has set a pretty good start to build a new trilogy from. Looking foward to the next one.
OP has alot of good ideas that i want to see along with these.

Either make a real open world environment like Elder Scrolls with dungeons and full fledged quests to find by exploring. Or switch back to ME2/3 style of handcrafted on rails missions. This half-assed openworld that Bioware has done with DAI and MEA where exploring is done to find collectibles, complete checklists and kill a few mooks here and there needs to go.
And I guess better facial animations and more natural dialogue cutscenes, I think in this day and age AAA roleplaying games have outgrown the "stand in front of each other and talk" style.

- If they're going to keep it semi open world they should have varied areas, like swamp, marsh, forest, etc all on the same planet. So that you can drive around in the Nomad, but still have to get out of the Nomad to into a different area that the Nomad can't fit into. Whole planets of sand and ice just get boring to look at, especially when you have to do that much driving.
Havarl was the best planet hands down. The animals flying in the sky, the plants and trees, it was dark and you had to use your lights, it was raining. It came across as an other wordly rainforest, whereas the other worlds came across as just something you'd see on Earth, sand and frozen terrain. I'd like a day/night cycle, but I'd settle for either some places day, and some night, or areas of the planets where you have to use your lights, like going into a dense jungle, forest.
Change up the skies, have two suns, multiple moons, Habitat 7 was decent with the floating mountains, but you hardly did anything there. Make it look like another galaxy. Aside fro Havarl, where was the imagination when creating these new worlds for players to explore.
- More new races. I finished the game last night, and I know why the Kett and the Angarans are the way they are. But if the next game is the same crew, same enemy, and only the Angarans as a new race, I'll have to pass.
- Music - Never figured out whether the lack of music was a bug or by design, but the music should be more prominent in the game and stand out more.
- Less quests, with more substance or quality over quantity. Less planet/system hopping and more quests that focus on building up what you're doing on a particular planet. Quests that actually have a noticeable impact on what you're doing. They could have done that so easily in this game. The quests could have changed the look and size of your outposts when you returned to certain worlds. Quests for scientists that actually lead to being able to grow food, and have water facilities, and have your outpost growing and more people living in them That was the purpose of what you were doing right?
- Ability to control squadmate skills. Why give squadmates group based skills if you can't use them when they benefit the squad the most?
- For the love of God, a way to board the Tempest without having to take of from the planet.
- Give the Nomad weapons and have it be immune to conditions. No way your squad should be affected by cold or heat while inside the Nomad. Find another way to save parts of the planet until later in the game. I would rather have to unlock research, or get tech designs from local inhabitants that upgrade the Nomad to reach other areas rather then be shut out because it's too cold or hot.
- I've said this before. The Pathfinder be first on at least one planet and have to scan water, plants, hunt some wildlife, and then decide where a settlement should go. Then quests and other things can decide how the settlement develops. I know it would be hard to do this on a bunch of planets, but it should be this way on one.

With that out of the way, I do agree with most of what the OP says.
Not sure how I would feel about having the other Ryder as a squadmate though. In my second playthrough it would feel wierd having my old PC as a squaddie.

I can get behind most of those suggestions. Some seem a little off kilter for a ME game, but, fuck it, why not?
What I would like to see is BioWare implement a day/night cycle. It changes the whole tone for some areas and environments.

1.) I don't think anyone will be completely satisfied with a character creator. So instead of giving us a million makeup options and ways to make us look stupid, just give us ways to make a good face.
2.) Do your facial capture right. Seriously, Jayde Rossi is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. And Sara Ryder is a JOKE in comparison. WTF, BioWARE, that just made you look incompetent. I don't want to believe the Anita Sarkessian BS about how they made the women look ugly because pretty women are patriarchy or something. But when you consider how spot on Steven Brewis was for Scott Ryder, I don't know how you guys screwed up Sara.
3.) Stop trying to lecture me and guilt trip me on the krogan. Every time one of those krogan throws a temper tantrum, I'm reminded of Wreav and why I really liked keeping Mordin alive, despite the fact that Eve was a well written character. I have no reason to trust these people, so stop trying to tell me what a raw deal they got. It was refreshing to see Drack say "you put krogan first" because that's what it was: Krogan are the only thing that mattered. So let me call him for his shit.
4.) Give me two new squadmates. Wasn't the one they cut supposed to be Saelon Vern? He'd have been perfect as a squaddie, since only Liam was military minded and even he was pretty casual. Don't see how he was copying anyone's style. The other one: Ryder twin. It's a nice way to get me to experiment with profiles if I could spread them around.
5.) I think BioWARE's strength has always been missions on rails. You can make your open space my hub world, give your missions some set boundaries. The better places to go in these games were the Remnant vaults, or the ark ships, stuff like that.
6.) I can understand MMO style quests if there are game mechanics to explain to me. It's an excellent way to make a tutorial. After that, don't bother. You guys aren't Minecraft. I don't play your games expecting it.
7.) You had some good ideas with presenting morally gray quests. Give me a good reason to root for or against a certain choice. Don't present your reward system as obviously favoring one over the other, like giving Morda the Drive Core.
8.) I don't want more "Renegade" decisions. I don't want to be a jerk for the sake of being a jerk. I do, however, want a more assertive Ryder. He doesn't need to be rude. He can even be polite about it. But if Drack is whining, telling Raeka to "earn" the deaths of his scouts, let me tell that bastard off.

Why wait for MEA2? They should patch MEA and fix a lot of things with DLCs.
1) Scan andromeda minerals... how about we actualy get some andromeda minerals? Right now we scan milky way minerals in Andromeda. 2) No nav point for edible plants (mission).. EXPLORE to find some 3) No viability unless we got all plants (more then one) and all wildflife for the planet 4) Que vault to a later point... right now we land, do the vault and profit... how about the glyphs are randomly found at remnant sites and we have to EXPLORE and find them first? 5) An inventory that actualy deserves to be called "inventory"... right now we dont need it, we need a loadoutstation to change weapons/armor, so what is it any different to ME2/3 armory? Everything else was already said.

I was chatting with my friends about stuffs we want to see in next andromeda instalment. these are few ideas we have come up for the single player. 1. Better Exploration - Deadlier and more diversed environmental hazards - Rather than just affecting life support gauge the environmental hazards should have distinct effect - Eg. - I.e Thermal visions, heat insulators etcs Also you should have ability to manipulate these hazardous situation to deal with enemies. - Sandbox approaches to missions - (the good example is vetra's loyalty mission) You get to sabotage or create diversion while assaulting enemy base. Or infiltrate while using the planet's environment to you advange. - Upgrading and Defending settlement missions - which is tied to story - Just don't make it like endless quests from Fallout 4's Preston Garvey's mission. - Hijack a vehicle and escape missions 6. Optionals missions to unlock hidden crews or squad mates who give advantages to tackle certain environmental hazards or certain type of enemies/ wildlifes. - like recueing a scientist crew can give you reserch options to craft EMP shielding gears or Animal lures. I like all of these ideas that I quote above, especially the first one. All the hazards did were a) make SAM annoy the shit outta me and get resolved by getting into the nomad. It would be so cool if those hazards made you have to adjust your actual play style on each planet/location. Kind of a wasted opportunity, really. Agree that more ways to approach a situation = more replay-ability. I dig it! Also...I want a high speed chase/battle in the Nomad SOOOOOOO bad! I love the nomad...

an explanation to who the benefactor is and what happened to Jien Garson. Its possible both might be addressed in a dlc sam voice thing gets a muzzle a fiend joins the squad Bain Massani joins the squad. Liam moves to Eos a quarian joins the squad. the asari is no longer a squadmate Drack removes himself as a squadmate, but recommends a krogan that would do well as a squadmate the kett will have a larger force than what was seen the Jardaan make an appearance Ryder hires a cook for the tempest Ryder learns that her/his father didn't really die. Throughout the game will learn why the others kept that information from her/him

- Armed Tempest and Nomad - Enemy infantry with anti-vehicle weapons - More enemy vehicles such as gunships(like those from ME2) and ground combat vehicles.

1) Scan andromeda minerals... how about we actualy get some andromeda minerals? Right now we scan milky way minerals in Andromeda. If I understand my nuclear physics correctly they would be the same minerals, they might have a different name but at the atomic level they will be the same. Since minerals are created by the nuclear fusion process inside a star and then scattered when the star explodes during a supernova. Overall I am fairly happy with Andromeda, it could use some refinement, but overall I am pleased. If I had to make one suggestion is not to have the entire game based on an open world philosophy and have more content that is like the Liam's loyalty mission where you don't need to worry about an over world.
