Agreed, though that is an issue with the females as well.  The majority of them look older than 22.

I mean, I'm not exactly an expert on 'good looking men' considering, but just from a viewpoint of looking natural and human like the male presets look much better.  The female presets for the most part have, to put it nicely, a very uncanny valley quality to them as their features are more exaggerated, and not in a good way.  A few of them can be made passable if we had more options in the CC for skin tones and hairstyles.  But just passable, not good or great.  Never thought I would miss the OT's CC.  It wasn't in any way impressive but at least I could make a character I could be happy with.

The "problem" is that they are vastly overrepresented in the game in comparison to their actual numbers. Additionally joining something like Andromeda Initiative which is pretty much a group of people going very far away from home to settle and reproduce probably wouldn't be that plausible idea for homosexuals- as was Gil's realisation BTW. 

Sure, but that's exactly why Morda makes no sense. She's not an intelectual but a dominant female that physically overpowers her male Krogan adversary. Kesh fits her role much better.

Once again, I'd like to state that I don't really care that much about these things, but they do stand out and aren't explained too well (Morda).

What actual numbers though? There are no actual numbers for demographic data in 2187 or whenever it is these games are set. Even using our meager 21st century data, we can expect there to be quite a few gay people knocking around. Given that gay couples can have children with the aid of science today, it is likely that the process is even easier in Mass Effect time. I agree that one would expect everyone in the Initiative to have signed some sort of agreement that promises they will have X number of kids by time Y, but there would be no real reason to exclude gay people. Using the numbers from the earlier post, you could make an argument that gay people are still underrepresented in the game as it stands.

Krogan women may be less warlike on average than the men, but they are still more than capable in combat situations. They lived on Tchunka after all. 

"Sci-Fi fans" would know that Ursula Le Guin and her contemporaries have been exploring concepts of sexuality, gender, race and religion since 1969 at least.

Against my better judgement, I feel compelled to ask: what do you think sci-fi is supposed to look like?
