The huge gulf between fem Ryder and Male Ryder [quality of acting]

Sorry, I didn't mean you specifically. I meant people in general. I've seen people say on Bioware FB page that she doesn't sound Scottish, even though is Scottish.....it's quite amusing really.
For me personally, it's fake Cockney accents that I don't like.

Sorry. That was in no shape or form a confrontational post. Reading it back, seems like i was being defensive, I wasn't, apologies.

I love both and think both did a terrific job. If I absolutely had to pick I'd say I like listening to Fryda's voice just a slight bit more than Tom's, but not by much.

I have absolutely no idea yet which one will be my canon Pathfinder.

I actually agree completely. One of the reasons I just couldnt do the scott playthrough after sara. (the others being well...all of the other issues with MEA and mostly SAM...How I HATE SAM).

I generally like FemRyder's voice, but I can't stand her laugh. If they just never ever ever ever had her laugh, I'd be fine.

Really? I like Scott's voice acting. To me he comes across as a sweet, funny, goofy guy. He talks to himself and is generally adorable. I haven't progressed beyond the prologue as Sara but I felt the way she says, "You know something?" to Lexi is inferior to her brother's delivery of the same line. But y'know, different strokes.

Agreed, I thought the VA's performances were fine for the most part.  Not Jen Hale or Ali Hillis great, but good enough.

The writing though, ugh.  The whole 'funny sitcom' vibe from start to finish is just really grating. 

it seems VA is very subjective to what people like.

i could never get in to Femshep for example, because to me it sounded like she was in a bad B movie and overacting on every line. but she seems to be far and away more popular than maleshep, which i loved.

i like scott ryder more on a VA front so far than even maleshep. he oozes personality without coming across as forced. this is choosing mostly casual/emotional responses.

i havent tried a fem ryder yet, so cant really comment on that too much.

i also havent really noticed this supposedly bad writing that seems to be go to criticism of MEA lately.

Like how Cora takes every opportunity to remind us her soul is Asari Huntress Blue. After a while it's just like, "Shut up Cora we get it! Here's some blue body paint. Go nuts."

Not at all.  I have the same reaction to male ryder.  He's not the only issue I have with the game but he's a large part of it.  If Bioware gave us the choice of more of male ryder or silent protagonist, I'll take silent protagonist all day long.

I've only heard female ryder in youtube review clips so I don't have a full picture.  That said, what I have heard, I don't find her much better.  To each their own.

Its Mark Meer vs Jennifer Hale all over again, some claim Mark did it better others,( mostly the internet ) claim Hale did it better. I personally thought I'd hate Tom, figured his voice was soft for my taste but I like how he plays Ryder much more than Frida but I'm pretty bias since I cringe just thinking about default Sara Ryder
