Would you trust a real life S.A.M.?

You guys who are saying no do realize you are missing out on a lot of medical advancements that could fix whatever issues your body has right? No human body is perfect. They all have some issues.

Genetic engineering could solve all those issues and improve us well beyond natural restrictions. Nanotech could also play a role in medical breakthroughs and repairing damage. Even transhumanism is a path more suitable in my opinion.

None of these involve allowing another sentient being in control of your body.

Genetic engineering, especially when looking at what the Kett are capable of, is more than capable of improving an individual to the level SAM can offer. Alliance soldiers are already super-soldiers by our standards. It seems only existing laws are holding humanity back from going even further. Which is true of genetic engineering in real life too.

My body has been broken, shattered more times than I can count. I have heart problem, lung problems, severe vision problems, mental illness, and I am occassionally unable to walk due to my spinal injuries.

Nope, no interest in having another voice in my head. Especially when it is as awful and annoying as SAMs. Thanks, Ill pass.

The problem with real life genetic engineering is that it seems only to affect those not born yet or super young. I have seen no evidence of them dramatically fixing something like austism.

Gene therapy has cured aids and diabetes in early trials. It's only in it's infancy. In a couple of centuries our medicine will look like butchery.
