Thanks for the answers. So oversights...I suspected as much. I mean such a shame. All these little details just add up and when things get critical...Immersion is the victim

Here is something probably unimportant and I don't even know if any other players have come across it but it has kinda been bugging me.I have encountered 3 cases of turian mixups and I want to know if it was inteded or plain lazy. We've known turians have very specific sexual dimorphism. There is no way anyone can mistake a female for a male and vice versa (like salarians who use the same model)
I so far met 2 turian NPCs who left me baffled ,as well as a character in the MP.
1) I came across a female Turian (voice and name) but she had a male model. 2) I also came across a male Turian (he had a grizzly old turian voice) but...the model was that of female turian !face body and all. 3)In the multiplayer there is a character class called Turian Havoc Soldier ,the design is very weird. The face looks like any Turian male face ,but he lacks the head fringe males have. Never seen a turian like that before.I havent unlocked the character so I dont know if the turian is male of female afterall.
Thoughts?

Seriously though...
If it is not TIM or Cerb.
My theory gravitates toward the Council itself.I don't have proof but it is plausible they were behind this but wanted to make it seem they are not.

O...M...G.
I just had an epiphany.
Note that I'm saying this half-joking but...
What if it is Kumun Shol? The eccentric volus billionaire who owned and lived on a planet called Klencory who saw visions of "beings of light" and "machine devils" etc etc.

It's funny how choices can be so binary in this game yet....no they HAD to remove paragon-renegade because it was "too binary" ...

It wasn't bad but it's definitely dissappointing. Nothing like the music of the MET.No memorable motifs and tunes apart from the main theme and the menu theme.Even the galaxy map theme is like discount watered down versin of the MET galaxy theme.

Given the criticism on the writing of the game, I strongly believe making MEA a trilogy is more beneficial. The format of ME has been trilogy based and it gives the amount of time needed for the players to get more attached to the characters and player character. Give Ryder two more games ,make each bettwr than the last, give it an epic and satisfying ending and in the long run people will love the MEA Trilogy and the first game, even if it had a rocky start, will be looked at as just a piece of a whole and players will be more forgiving. In my opinion ,leaving it as stand alone without building upon serves no purpose for the franchise. This is just me personally speaking but I honestly don't want to see another trilogy, duology or something like that. I'd rather not have another grand war to end all wars. I wouldn't mind seeing overarching storylines that last a couple of games that is related that way but not a story that's suppose to be the story . I may be explaining this poorly and I may be misunderstanding. Sorry if that is the case. I've come to think and feel that Mass Effect tends to be best when the stories feature the same cast but in stories that are more stand alone or have overarching storylines. I love the OT and each game was fun but looking at each story as a part of a trilogy, it had some serious problems, in my opinion. I think it's better to play to strengths such as characters and adventures. It can allow for a lot more free room to write different kinds of adventures. Basically, have Ryder and their crew be exploring and adventuring, solving different troubles and mysteries, be involved in politics and faction conflicts. It could lend itself to a lot of fun with the diversity of stories we could have. Political intrigue one game, a mystery the next and so on. No need to keep trying to up the scale of the challenge to that of the Reapers and beyond: make the challenge different and a different kind of fun each story. Have the focus be Ryder and their crew: their adventure and their journeys together. Develop those characters, grow those relationships and make those stories be enjoyable and we should be good, I think. I agree overall. What I meant to say with my post was that 2 more games with Ryder would benefit the franchise ,regardless the story. I don't it need to be a 'trilogy' trilogy as in one story like Shepard's was.It can be distinct adventures with overarching themes and intertwining plot lines. We could even have the events happen years apart, have our Ryder 'grow' as a character into the role of the Pathfinder and grow in age. I'd like to see the state of the Heleus cluster 5 or 10 years later and see if anyone will manage to travel outside the cluster into bew undiscovered territories. Despite my gripes with the game, 50 hours later I have grown attached to my Ryder and I don't want her to be 'taken' away so soon. (I want purple angaran Jaal babies and a house on Aya damnit!!!! )

I can get behind the Asari Male thing. PeeBee is a tomboy and I like her for that. I like to think their interactions with humans and other species has slowly created new norms for them. I could get behind that as well ,ONLY if it can be explained like that. So many species living together,it is not unlikely some will have picked up some things they liked here and there from others. On the other hand,if they retcon this into Asari lore as something that was always there...I'm calling BS.

I completed Voeld ,not all side quests but I brought it to 100% viability and one thing really stuck out and made my experience bad. I was so excited when I saw those massive animals, the eirochs and I was so psyched about fighting them...BUT...
ALL EIROCHS ON VOELD WERE BUGGED!ALL OF THEM!
The eiroch models would sit there stuck, frozen, immobile and to top it all off...They would roar. Hilarious bug.
I have saved so many clips from todays bugfest on Voeld.Thank goodness I am done with that planet!

As the title says, what are some retcons or outright contradictions that you noticed in this game, compared to the numbered trilogy and expanded universe? They can be small and minute and not-all-that-important, or major and lore-breaking. For me, the one that stuck out is how the asari now have male terms and pronouns for themselves, despite being an all-female species with a language that has, up to this point, only had female signifiers, e.g. the stages of life of an asari are "maiden", "matron", and "matriarch", and asari children always being referred to as daughters. Introducing a male dynamic completely does away with what makes the asari interesting, that they are a monogendered species with a culture that reflects that. Aria in Mass Effect 2 even mentions that the reason she named Patriarch "Patriarch" is because the asari don't have a proper term for a male leader, because there are no male asari. Aria is in essence saying that Patriarch, as the previous leader of Omega before her, is nothing, he may as well not exist, he's so irrelevant. Nothing about the asari beforehand supported the notion that they would even have any concept of males in their own culture, and Andromeda mentioning that there are now, for lack of a better term, transgender asari, just comes off as progressive pandering for good boy points. Wait...wait! Asari have male pronouns now in their culture?Since when? The only time they ever used male terms was when they talked about their mates,no matter what gender or species. If the mate was a female human, she'd still be called "father".Isn't that right? Don't remember them calling eachother as "he".

Apart from all the funny non important bugs, I have so far got 2 bugs that prevent me from finishing certain quests
1.Infinite enemy/invisible enemy spawning at the Sheartop Kett base on Eos. Haven't found a fix yet
2.Cora :Asari Ark quest on Voeld. You sre supposed to go to a location ,once you get there you find the kett. If you decide to snipe them from a hill,a shuttle will infinitely keep appearing and leaving invisible enemies so you can't complete the quest. It fixes only if you rush toward the camp. Figured it out, tested it twice it works.Just don't snipe while being undiscovered

Hmmm I guess they're OK. Just that. BW didn't put a huge effort into them but for now, they'll do. I like them and I think they have potential.
I am just waiting for future installements to see what else the galaxy has to offer.Heleus is just too small compared to the whole scope so it only makes sense only 1 race lives there.Who knows how many other interesting races are outside the cluster? I hope they expand the lore.
I hope EA doesn't can the franchise because of the negative criticism (It has huge flaws of course, but it has a lot potential to become better especially if it is made a trilogy.

Of course, this could mean nothing... Maybe it was put there to reflect us the players with all our "Why are we even going to Andromeda ?" and "it must be because of the reapers" attitude. But I just have this feeling that it means something. It's way too obvious. But it is subtly hidden where a player can easily just miss it. Anyway,if the Reapers reappear in the plot of future games, it won't be an invasion scenario or anything. There cannot be one since the endings have already happened.Remember? Which means we may get like one Reaper who tried to follow the arks and investigate yadda yadda... We will never have another 'Reaper Invasion'. That's covered. Yeah that s what I said. Not only it would be counter productive to the franchise by rehashing the cosmic horror all over again but it s not even possible.Even if 1 or 2 Reapers were sent to Darkspace to investigate after the Arks ,they're only ones left. The others are either destroyed, controlled or merged...so no more reaper invasions for sure. But one reaper arriving in andromeda...the very last of its kind which we could meet and talk to,it would tell us what happened (red green or blue) and that it no longer has a purpose blah blah and we can either destroy or preserve it. Now that! I d love to see!

There is a lot of winking towards fans of old trilogy, with different level of elegance. This one is good. I wouldn't expect (want) a Reaper DLC from it, but it's a good reference and logical question to ask regardless. Still some dark parts of the Initiative are going to be uncovered eventually, since it's already a thing in the game. Agreed. Those last sentences just sent a chill down my spine as I remembered Sovereign from ME1 and how terrifying the Reapers were.

According to wiki, Angara decided to get very creative with naming it jave jarevaon - "our galaxy", refers to Andromeda However they do have a name for MW Jarevaon Imasaf - "the Masaf Shell Galaxy", refers to the Milky Way Thanks !! I have been so busy playing the game I haven't had the time to search wikis and read all codex entries.

When on Aya, Ryder can forward messages to the Nexus written by angaran citizens addressed to their new alien Milky Way visitors.
One specific message caught my eye.
"Subject: Why are you here?
What impulse drove your people to cross darkspace? What have you come here for? Do you expect us to believe you're just explorers who want to live in peace? I think you fled something terrible. I think it might follow you here."
Notice those last 2 sentences. Devs pulled a sneaky one us. This just sums up all of most the fans concerns whether the Initiative was a cover up to flee the Reapers etc. It wasn't placed there just for no reason. Right?

I 'm greek. "Gala" means milk. In my language we don't have a specific name for the galaxy we live in,the "Milky Way". When talking about OUR galaxy or galaxies in general ,we use the same name which is "galaxias". In written form though, our galaxy (MW) starts with a capital letter .There is the distinction.

Just a random thought/question I had .
It is definitely not called Andromeda by the locals ,right? Andromeda is justa a name humans gave to it based on Greek mythology. I also think the locals have a different name for the Milky Way.
Does that ever appear in-game? I have played about 30 hours but I 'd like to know whether anyone has seen this later in the game? It's not that important but it would be a nice little detail.

I was watching a stream earlier and the player was in Kadara...I noticed that they changed her face model since the trailer. I doubt that was a bug or anything...The face of Sloane Kelly we see in the trailer was not there. Sloane this time ,was older and had different features ,but same hair and clothes. Well, I like her better. The old face looked way too young. I noticed that! I was wondering if it was the rendering between seeing it in-game with my own eyes vs. on the streams. Didn't know they changed the face entirely. I like this one much better because it fits more with her character and experience. I totally agree. In the trailers she just looked way too young .I also think her face was basically an edited Preset 5 head from the CC. I like her new face, way more fitting.

I recall there are 3 terminals and 2 alarms. Did you notice an alarm icon? Also running back toward entrance some time trigger respawn too Yes I did.I tried disabling all terminals (orange icons) and alarms(white satellite icons) as fast as I could by just running/gunning/biotic blinking my way to them, after that I got comments from SAM and my squad about "seems there won't be any more reinforcements yadda yadda" or something similar. But enemies still spawned. Specifically, I remember in one of my tries being distracted for 2 minutes because I looked at my phone -after having disabled e v e r y t h i n g on the map ,the BAM i see red blips AND the alarm icons AGAIN on my radar bar . SO frustrating. I haven't gone back there yet.I just reloaded and older save and proceeded doing other stuff.I might try again soon for sure.

Whatever it is it needs to be patched. I was tried for a while and I just gave up because when I died it reloaded way early and each time I had to re do a big portion of it. (Damn save system) Once,I got real close to finishing but I got swarmed. They need a save system for sure. Man was it painful for me to play on Insanity. I have no idea how I didn't die, not even once. Not even on Voeld's Kett base that is even worse. Oh yeah I agree.the save system is poop...dont understand why it doesnt autosave frequently enough during missions :/
