Because I'm not the one you were replying to, but you replied to AlanC9. I responded though because I saw you doing your troll dance again. The last part of your post is absolutely hilarious though. You are the one in this thread making claims about some idiots on twitter, page after page, but when asked to provide proof of these statements you think we should all move to a different topic or even format. You sir, you're a troll. Let's assume for a moment that I'm lying, that I never saw any such comment on twatter (which isn't the case, but since you claim that I'm "trolling"), does it change anything? These people do exist. The web is filled with certain types of people which are all too happy to claim that racism is a concept that only applies to certain races, while ignoring even the basic meaning of that term. Manveer Heir is one of these idiots.
I'd say that letting the light of day shine on their idiocy is a worthy goal, and if I'm a "troll" for doing it, so be it.
Yeah, let's assume you're lying. How would you know these people exist if you never saw the comments? How are we supposed to talk to you about these comments when you didn't actually see them and refuse repeatedly to show them to us? That would make us morons for believing you at face value, wouldn't it? But this concept fucking eludes you. We should just believe you for whatever shitty reason, because in a topic about God knows what we should be talking about your Twitter adventures with some degenerates. And that still leaves the point of all of this to be desired, because I honestly don't know what the standpoints of these degenerates has to do with how Mass Effect turned out. Is it anti white? Is it anti heterosexual? Is it anti male? No, it isn't any of that. It just seems that to you the mere presence of non white, non heterosexual, non male characters in prominent positions is a problem.

It just seems that to you the mere presence of non white, non heterosexual, non male characters in prominent positions is a problem. But I just answered your question, even if I lied (which I didn't, I just can't be arsed to dig in twatter for a few retarded comments I saw earlier), the existence of other examples of this behavior (like say, Manveer Heir) more than justifies bringing this retardation to light so everyone not infected with the SJW virus would be able to mock it as it deserves.
As for you being a moron, well, you said it, not me.
And as I said clearly before, I didn't connect any of this to Mass Effect specifically. The discussion merely moved to FC5, and that's what I responded to.
I don't have a problem with the "mere presence" of anyone. I care very little about the skin color of antagonists, as I repeatedly mentioned before. But I suppose misrepresentation isn't a new tactic for you guys. Are you going to call me "deplorable" next? Or go straight for "Nazi"?
You dare accuse me of misrepresentation while you are basing this entire topic on some idiots on Twitter? Something you resist to back up repeatedly? Such fun.

You dare accuse me of misrepresentation while you are basing this entire topic on some idiots on Twitter? Something you resist to back up repeatedly? Such fun. Yeah, that's literally what you did. You claimed that I have a problem with the "mere presence" of "minority" characters. The very definition of misrepresentation. I'm pretty sure I didn't, I'm also pretty sure you have absolutely no basis to whine about misrepresentation when you are constantly picturing social justice by it's absolute worst and most extreme proponents.

I'm pretty sure I didn't, I'm also pretty sure you have absolutely no basis to whine about misrepresentation when you are constantly picturing social justice by it's absolute worst and most extreme proponents. So you just defended yourself with "whataboutism". "It's okay for me to misrepresent you, because in my opinion you also engage in misrepresentation."
To which my reply is: Like it or not, when you allow your worst to set the tone in your movement, that's how people are going to see you. I mean, not that I would agree with any kind of ideology obsessed with identity politics, but I likely wouldn't feel the same need to mock it if it was just a tad more... reasonable.
As for me, I don't speak for anyone but myself.
I didn't misrepresent you, because you are over all these kinds of topics. Not just this one, but everyone of them and you're always whining about idiots on Twitter and about how white, straight males are under attack. They don't set the tone for the movement. Just like radical Muslims don't set the tone for Islam in general. Though I'm fairly sure you're going to disagree with me on that as well. And you don't talk about only yourself. Read your own post again. And remember how you constantly whine about idiots on Twitter as if they represent some movement as a whole? How is that speaking for yourself?

I will say this: One can be for equality of opportunity, but not an enforced equality of outcome. Characters and stories should be chosen first and foremost by merit, not by their representation value. I have a problem with "representation characters", not with characters that also happen to belong to a "minority". The difference is rather subtle, I know, but it's most assuredly there.
You know, you should really give the politics thread a try. In my experience the best discussions tend to happen when there are people from all sides of the issue who are willing to actually discuss it in depth. Like the example you mentioned, radical Islam in comparison to Islam as a whole.
And I most certainly spoke only for myself, I presented my opinions as a reaction to something I saw. Fairly simple really.
Merit doesn't come from colour though, so merit isn't any kind of argument against representation in media. Nice way to avoid the point I make. Again, or rather, as usual. For someone who keeps mention he likes to go in depth you have an awfully knee jerked reaction to actually going in depth. No, you didn't. You said 'they way people perceive them', not as the way you perceive them.

This is such a dumb thread.
"I hate diversity, but at least it means I get to kill minorities and women!"
Also, Ubisoft is hesitant to let you kill non-white people? Have you played, oh, I dunno, literally any Far Cry game?
