Although I'm not playing MEA right now, I did do two complete playthroughs and a partial third. In contrast, I've only done one complete playthrough of DAI (long boot and load screens kill it for me). OTOH, I've had many, many playthroughs of the MET since March 2016 when I first started playing.
Here's my take, though. I like the MET as a series, with a complete story and lots of dlc. MEA's story remains unfinished and we don't yet have and dlc. An additional game and some dlc could make the game much more expansive and interesting. It's hard to really compare them for that reason alone. (Though I think ME1 stands well enough on its own.)

I pre-ordered the game and I do not regret that purchase. And game got improved even more so thanks to patches.
And right now, game is on 50% sale on Origin and PlayStation store. So current price is a great deal. Although from what I can tell, game is not on sale on XBOX One.

Yes, but just play it on its own merit. It's still one of the better RPG's this year... I actually can't think of any RPG's for 2017 that are better... Maybe Zelda BOTW, but you need a WiiU or Switch for that.

Alternatively, you may find the default good-looking enough to keep her, like me. Definitely going for CC with Scott. Wish we could change her hair though. Not a fan of the ponytail, but I don't like that they increased the color of the lips either. Would also try it. Just out of curiosity, though. Ponytails are hawt.

I was ready to buy ME: Andromeda at launch (I don't preorder, even if it means that I'll pay full price 1 day later) but the first gameplays I saw made me raise an eyebrow (I always watch gameplays before buying a game and I must say I did agree with some of the critics even before they were spoken out). However, I also enjoyed the actual gameplay, so I went for the proper critics/reviewers and...well...and we all know what happened. So I didn't buy it. Even though I put ME:A aside and went on other games, I heard (who didn't?) that it has received a lot of patches; plus it's on sale right now So, is it worth getting after all the patches? Does anyone know if there'll be more patches (aka is there anything else left to be fixed)? And finally, is the deluxe version worth getting? Thanks in advance If you are an ME fan, you'll love it no matter what. Since patch 1.08 there's been a lot of changes too, improving the game greatly. I'd say grab it while on sale, and if you want Deluxe, sure, why not? You get a few bonus things and some free stuff that was gifted to those who owned the Deluxe too. I've been playing since it launched, issues and all and can't put it down yet nor do I plan to for a long time.

Witcher 3 and FO 4 second PTs, maybe Red Dead, and i might want to torture myself with a run through all three DA games soon. But i can't guarantee i will finish these games either and get sucked back into Andromeda.

I spent last year and early this year doing completionist runs on DA and ME haha I was so burned out, I switched to TES and nearly died because there's too much to do. Now I'm still finding new stuff in MEA and it never ends. I want to complete Blood and Wine, but I can't even defeat the damn frog in Heart of Stone, so I beat TW3 and just left it at that for now lol

Honestly? I'm thoroughly enjoying it, and I got the deluxe edition at full price.
My main problem with it so far has been pacing (which is ironic, as this was the same issue I had with ME1) - the main quest and loyalty quests keep getting interrupted and diluted by huge exploration areas where the general quest quality can fluctuate. It just isn't on the same level as the Trilogy in terms of a tight, Space Opera experience, and the weakest of the mainline ME games.
But the combat? The story? The gadgets? The graphics? The skill system? All splendid. A very underrated game. FWIW, I quite like the male Ryder too. You definitely get less choice in terms of his character but he reminds me of a mix of Firefly's Mal Reynolds and Stargate's Daniel Jackson.
I was a big fan of Dragon Age Inquisition too, and this title pulls quite a bit from it. In fact I'd go so far as to say it's like what would happen if DAI and ME1 had a baby.

The trick with the pacing is setting your own pace. I find by just doing the main, vault, LM's and email missions, the game paces well. Had to do the same with DAI. Though I do recommend some side quests as you get some nice surprises in the final fight.

In my current run I've just arrived at Kadara and my Ryder is trying to balance the concerns about the main quest with the need to establish outposts in his wake, so I'm kind of stopping on every world to sort things out related to that. Of course, I've kind of deviated off into testing stuff since they buffed the Beam Emitter aug. Combine that with an N7 Valkyrie and you have yourself an honest-to-god Phaser Rifle. Make it so.

Yeah for me Kadara is like Skyhold. Once it unlocks the quests just pour in and you need to slow down. I usually wrap up anything that was unfinished on Eos, Aya, Voeld and Havarl, then start the Kadara stuff.

MEA is NOT getting any RPG of the Year awards. i don't see much competition so far. Maybe Persona. Maybe BOTW. But honestly if HZD wins any RPG of the year awards the genre is probably doomed. Best RPG's of 2017 so far if we're being somewhat loose: 1) Zelda: BoTW 2) MEA 3) Prey (if it qualifies for a true RPG) Not much else on the radar... I really cant think of anything coming out that would change this. Now, if you counting small studio independents... maybe there's a couple that could reposition that list... but I can't think of any... RPGs (in the classical sense) are becoming less common. But I stand by may statement that MEA so far is the Best 2017 RPG you can purchase on computer, PS4 or XB1. Mainly because there really isn't anything else. Which may explain some of the resource allocation given by EA.
