I usually edit heavy weapons out of the game with coalesced. I think most of them just look shitty on Shepard's back. They seem to clip into the sniper rifles and assault rifles a lot. I don't think they are really needed, even on insanity. No question that they can make things easier but there is no situation in the game that can't be handled with standard weapons and powers.
On topic: LE1 definitely got a lot easier, just because of the head shots and the fact that every class can now use every weapon type effectively. The only thing that got a little harder in LE1 are the thresher Maws with their three acid balls now IMO.
In LE2 and 3 I didn't notice any major differences.
Yeah ME1 is easier but 2 and 3 are moer o rless the asm eas befoer jus ta few minor graphical changes here and there.

Now that you mentioned it, I agree, tresher maws were harder; no more cheese instakills, true, but their aim for the acid spit felt improved... I did feel ME2 easier in several spots. Still judging ME3, but so far my impression is that it is the one that changed less (just did the Cerberus attack on the citadel)...

I'm trying to use heavy weapons more. I've always neglected them, but they can be a lot of fun. They can also fill the occasional hole in a given class' capabilities.
For instance, the varren swarm on Gei Hinnom can be a pain in the ass for casters on Insanity. The Arc Projector or Black Hole Gun (can't remember its name) can even the odds somewhat.
I just tried the Cain on the Collector Ship praetorian, after reading someone else's comment. I'm playing a Soldier and activated AR just beforehand. The asshole dipped milliseconds before impact, but its armor was still reduced to a sliver. Fun to see.

Pwning the game is still very easy without them, but there is fun to be found there. When you look for fun, there is plenty to be had in these games. Part of the appeal, part of the brilliance, of these lovely flawed gems.

Just changed my avatar. It's a real pain on the XBox to take a screen shot. You have to upload it to Facebook, then take a screenshot, save it to your PC, then you can upload it here. Does your PC have windows 10, Julia? If so it should have come with an app called "Xbox Console Companion". It will let you download any screenshot you take from Xbox Live directly to your computer. Just look in the Captures tab. Or you can upload them directly from your Xbox to OneDrive and save them that way. The first option is the one I use and is and is relatively hassle free.

Can also be used for gamestreaming, and video capture (like a solo, or fun team of friends, or a Thunderdome with your favorite scrub to pwn). Also allows a PS3/PC gamer to play XB exclusive titles, which is pretty cool and why I don't own another Playstation. Sony dun kilt my enthusiasm with several of their moves since PS3, but XB is bringing about the only synthesis I care about - console and PC as one, as they should be. Sony is on the Deadpool, I place $100. This is a long play, but I feel great about it.

I've finished Omega DLC yesterday. As i remembered the end DLC fight was brutal. First of the 4 objective was easy, but the rest got harder and harder. At least this is how i remember it. Adjutants being agressive, chasing me, damaging me, killing me many times, blocking my path to the objectives, or even sandwiching me sometimes. But yesterday it was like nothing. They didn't follow me, they didn't chase, nothing. I could just finish the 4 objectives one by one without any enemy doing a thing about it.
So maybe LE ME3 is easier aswell? Or i got better? (was already playing gold/plat multi games when i played the single last time so i doubt it) Or simply Kronner's Sentinel build is op? (it might be OP, but the build doesnt influence AI and enemy behaviour)

I did the Mirror Match on Insanity yesterday and dam, that felt harder than before (though I am guessing it actually wasn't and I just didn't remember how hard it used to be). Those fricking clones kick some serious ass. Took me 5 or 6 tries with an infiltrator. At some point I looked up what people wrote on the internet. Someone claimed that with tactical cloak you can one- or two-shot clones with a Black Widow. That was definitely not my experience. Maybe he meant a Black Widow X, this is my first MELE playthrough, so I only had the weapons upgraded to V. With that, it takes at least 3 headshots even if someone overloads their shields first.
I ended up barricading myself in the pain train map because at least there, if you are lucky, most of the grenades they keep throwing at you end up falling in the gaps and out of the map.

ME3LE feels easier to me as well. I switched to insanity a few days ago, which I don't think I've done before, and now I'm on Omega DLC, which has seemed relatively easy so far compared to how it has been in the past (though I haven't gotten to that end fight yet). However, I'm playing an engineer, and it's possible that I'm just using the drone and sentry turret more intelligently than I did on my last engineer playthrough.
That said, I went through the Mars mission on normal (might have switched to hardcore part way through), and found it just as difficult as I always have, especially the part where you get off the tram with Liara and VS. I died several times.
Edit: I finished Omega DLC, and while the final fight was difficult and I used medigel several times, I never died. It definitely feels like it got easier.

Yeah, I'm progressing slowly - real life on the way big time - but now, I only have sanctuary, the Cerberus base and the earth push ahead. Probably will take an even extra while because of the Armax arena, though maybe I'll leave it's achievements for later...
Anyways, did omega, and it was as easy as in my previous insanity playthrough, but with a big difference - level V gear instead of level X. The clone fight in Citadel was noticeably easier, but for that one I included two new tactics I didn't use before, so maybe this one is not a fair comparison.
I'm curious with the arena clones N7 fight. Probably the hardest of the game, and the only one I didn't beat on insanity (lowered it for the achievement in the OT). I'll see how it measure up on the LE...

I'll see how it measure up on the LE... The Mirror Match clones killed me twice on Insanity, and I pretty much never die. (I was playing a Sentinel on that Shepard. Maybe a Soldier would've dominated more easily. I also took a suboptimal party.) They're still tough and aggressive. They're the best enemies in the trilogy by a wide margin. You can get the achievement pretty quickly. It took me only four matches. Three to earn the tokens/point boosters to unlock Mirror Match, with the fourth being MM. I even got the Cerberus Spirit Armor for the MM, scoring 14k or 15k, or something. Better to just grab the achievement while you're this close, no? The only differences in difficulty that I've seen are as follows: ME1: Universal weapon proficiency, improved shooting mechanics, and the shortening of Immunity duration make Insanity way more fun and widely accessible. Some encounters, like Benezia, have been reworked. ME2: Some encounters have been nerfed. Second waves of foes have been removed. Enemies sometimes won't spawn if you kill their predecessors quickly enough, and sometimes won't appear regardless. Also, injured enemies sometimes lie around waiting for a mercy kill. It's an AI bug, but that's how I spin it. ME3: Not much. As in ME2, you sometimes get those injured, mercy kill enemies. Otherwise, the game is identical to the original. ME3 always was super easy.

just finished canon playthrough of the series. ME2 and ME3 seemed about the same as original in terms of difficulty. ME1 was noticeably easier early game due to weapons working properly. It was also nice being able to hit level 57 in one playthrough.

Adept wrecks his clone badly, because I know how to play Adept and he really doesn't. Vanguard, same. The classes with Tech are the hardest to deal with here.

Yeah that's kind of my assesment 2 and 3 are moe ro rless the same difficult ywise as before onlysignificant change is tha tthe graphics d olook shinier but other than that the games feel the same ME1 is the onl one that feels different as for me it's much easier now that they've taken away the weapons restrictions. I thin k the Mako sections are now slightly harder when it comes t ocomba tgiven the Mako isn't quiet as bullet spongey in the LE as in the original but because the shields recharge quicker it's not that much of an issue as I died yesterday while playin gBring Down the Sky due to not keeping an eye on the health bar when taking on the turrets outside the first torch and they got me befoer I could destroy all of them. But in general ME1 is definitely easier

Wait, does your class actually determine which clones you fight in the mirror match? I thought they were set with a soldier, an engineer and an adept in the first wave, the three others in the second and all six together in the third wave. At least, that's what I got. I think it's only you "real" clone on the Normandy that is the same as your class, right?
I also always thought that Infiltrator actually was a pretty good class for the MM since between tactical cloak, a sniper rifle and your ammo powers you can deal pretty massive damage if you are decent at head shots. My main issue was really that they kept spamming grenades, which meant I needed to constantly change position. It doesn't help that they apparently can see through tactical cloak (it still gives you the damage bonuses though, so that's something). Anyway, it worked out in the end. Just my thumb was sore from clamping down on the spacebar so much (I spent a lot of time in tactical pause to figure out my next move).

Well, I'm now in the last moments of the 3rd game - literally the last fight of the earth push, a couple kills away from the bansheepocalypse (had to leave t that to go to work).
And a bug brought the difficulty of the game in this moment.
Literally, my supressor heavy pistol stopped shooting. I have no clue why. My ammo is ok. Never saw this bug before.
Without it, it will be an issue to contain the banshees. I'll likely manage to power through, but damn...
Its the second weapon bug I come across. The m7 rifle sometimes have to flush heat 2 times, ocasionally 3 times, before it starts to refill ammo, even though I DO wait the full venting process before trying to shoot again.
Actually I saw 3 weapons related bugs, but the third one is beneficial. If i change weapons while I apply an ammo power, it skips the animation of the gun being changed...
Never came across these bugs in the OT. Anybody else here getting them?

No, your class does not determine which clones you fight in the Mirror Match. I believe the poster was referring specifically to the Clone Shepard fight, which is a bit of a mix-up when the original conversation was about the Mirror Match.

Adept wrecks his clone badly, because I know how to play Adept and he really doesn't. Vanguard, same. The classes with Tech are the hardest to deal with here. My opinion: Infiltrator clone fight is probably one of the easiest clone fights since you can also have cloak. Losing sight of Clone Infiltrator Shepard can cause problems, but losing sight of any Clone Shepard can be a problem. The hardest clone fight is probably the Vanguard Clone Shepard IF you are using a gimmicky No-Charge Vanguard build. If you are using Charge like a typical Vanguard, then I think it becomes one of the easier fights. I think a consistently difficult Clone Shepard fight is the Engineer Clone, which can be surprisingly very dangerous, between its Incinerate and Drone projectile attacks, which can break shieldgate > break healthgate > kill in 3 quick attacks. Clone Adept and Clone Sentinel and very similar, as is Clone Soldier. Not a lot of difference other than gun used. Their projectile and grenade attacks are the same but just colored different.

So for the difficulty difference ME1 was a cake walk. You really felt the changes there.
ME2 was easier in a lot of places but Horizon and the Reaper IFF mission were still very hard. Horizon is hard because you need to micro manage a bit more towards the end than you do for most of the game. It also is a fight that benefits having a lot of biotics which you don't have at that point(samara and thane). The reaper IFF has the one part where husks are swarming you on top of them shockwaves from the scions. That part is brutal. Plus the end of that mission but I found the trick was playing CoD zombies with the husks. In general I think that the difficulty change was more due to knowledge and a change because of RP. I like adept in me1 and 3 but on ME2 I know it's underwhelming on insanity so I went sentinel and OH BOY was that a good decision. Now couple that with my newly found appreciation for biotics in certain situations things naturally got easier.
ME3 was about the same as og. I have to say IDK if enemy fire rate and accuracy is based off of FPS though. I know og ME3 was much easier on consoles with 30fps than on pc (boy was that a shock when I swapped to pc). So yeah Garrus is still op and ME3 gold solos really make you good at single player.

I still don't think they changed the difficulty... I think spawns and spawn rates are just messed up more than anything. Ran through Arrival on "normal" mode and had a pyro spawn in the room just after you hack the door to transition to the final showdown with Kenson. In the OT, he would have spawned in the previous room as part of the second wave with the engineer. So, the first part of that battle felt easier, but then I was caught by total surprise to encounter him inches from my face just after hacking the door.
I also just finished getting The One and Only Achievement in ME3. About two months ago, I did a Mirror Match on Insanity with no problems in the old game with the same build I've been using in ME3LE. The fight was much easier in the old game on Insanity than it was in MELE on Normal. I was also using the same weapons and mods (with the exception of Liara who was using a Suppressor V instead of an Executioner Pistol in MELE because I didn't buy one of those... but I don't think that should have made much of a difference.
I'm still working through getting my Long Service Medal (o Insanity) so I'll have another point of comparison when I'm done with him. It makes no sense that they would change difficulty when they've left so many other "bugs" in the game the same as they always were... and then added some new bugs on top of that.

Yeah, finished my playthrough (plus an hour of ng+ just to get the level X weapon achievement), and I also got more bugs in the MELE than in OT. WAY more, in fact, though nothing really game breaking. Didn't finish the whole armax arena quests, though; moved on after beating the clone, to start a playthrough as an adept - first with that class, straight to insanity, as a renegade. So far, still very easy, but I'm pretty early on. Just got to the citadel. Guess I'll suffer plenty when I get to ME2... .

Yeah the only significant change is ME1only because of the ewapon restrictions being lifted I think but 2 and 3 feel more or less the same difficulty wise to their original versions

Yeah the only significant change is ME1only because of the ewapon restrictions being lifted I think but 2 and 3 feel more or less the same difficulty wise to their original versions The difference in ME1 is most notable early game. It ceases to be a factor completely when doing NG+ (once the character is leveled up, has all their powers and rapid cool downs, and has the associated perks with their class weapons. If a player continues to use a weapon outside of their class at that point, it probably means they've selected the wrong class for their play style anyways. Removing the mako XP penalty did make earning XP easier, but that also becomes a non-factor with NG+. My NG+ runs of ME1 have, so far, felt very much the same as the old ME1 as far as difficulty is concerned. I had originally hoped that changes to the AI would be more notable, but even that seems to not be a factor in an NG+ run.
ME3 - My Insanity NG+ run sometimes feels harder than the old games and sometimes feels easier. Most of those issues I can track to "unusual" or "bugged" enemy spawns. I just finished Priortiy: Tuchanka and many of the enemies were spawning "stuck in place" (i.e. they didn't seem to be able to move as they normally would and as they did during my normal run. As a result, the whole mission was a cake walk, since I could just reave and warp the group of them as they stood all together in the location where they first spawned.
I honestly never encountered some of these bugs in the old games; and the ones I did encounter there never seemed to happen with this degree of frequency. They really need to consider patching this.
