When I 1st saw the squad mate icons it is pretty apparent that there is a turian one (that icon is butt ugly) and Asari one and one other that I immediately thought was an quarian face but after looking again probably not. I thought that too and got all excited, but if you look again it's a guy with goggles and spiky hair, and you get a few glimpses of him as a squadmate and he's definitely got a human figure. I thought that Reyes, that guy you talk to during the scanning part sounded quarian. Admittedly I 'm bad at placing accents, but I literally played Priority: Rannoch like two days ago so all that quarian dialogue is fresh in my mind and it sounded just like them to me. But others are saying he sounds Spanish (I would disagree, having grown up in a part of the U.S with a large hispanic population and I once had a Spanish professor, but again, I'm bad with accents...) so maybe not. Regardless, the quarians were my favorite of the alien species we met in the trilogy, so I'll hold out hope that there's at least some major characters until their absence is confirmed. After all, I saw a lot of speculation here on these boards that there wouldn't be turians because they didn't show any at first and that turned out to be wrong as well. The guy with googles and spiky hair is a turian I am pretty sure. Thus my comment about an ugly icon.

I don't think we'll have a Quarian squadmate. Right now the squadmates appear to be PeeBee, Liam, Cora, Drack, the female Turian, and there is a rumored A.I. companion. That's six companions, which might be the full squad. If there is a seventh, I'd bet on an Andromeda native over a Quarian. I doubt we'll have more than 7 squadmates. I'd be surprised if some Quarians weren't on the Nexus however. Maybe the character in Engineer Adams' place will be Quarian this time around. We're getting a Salarian pilot, so why not a Quarian chief engineer? Source? First time I'm hearing about it. I hope not... Legion was cool but don't need another pinocchio character. I want a male Quarian or a Salarian (we got the pilot though, so that's enough, I guess.). Seems only logical to include a native... And I agree that six squadmates is plenty. I don't want too many. Let's not forget that there could be a Quarian among the crew who's also a love interest like the DAI advisors or Cortez/Traynor. I think it's HIGHLY likely one other Milky Way species will be of importance that way. The fanbase has been demanding a male Quarian (romance) for years. Won't be surprised if it happens. The Salarian pilot could be a romance option too, who knows. Bioware likes to please everyone in the romance department. SO be prepared for that alien sex orgy. Very curious about that male voice with an accent we heard. Could be a random quest NPCs, of course. I'm much more interested in the two human squadmates right now. I want to see their faces.

Do not ask me how he did as telling how would cost someone his or her job.
The vertical slice he played was small and he is soooo not as obsessive as we are (tho he is a fan) but he let me know a couple of things.
1: there us a Krogan character in the squad so far called Drake.
2: There is a Synthetic in the squad...it is not a geth
3: A big thing that was a focus of this was showcasing the "no loading times". Apparently there are none. From flying through the "map" to picking a planet to landing with the squad. Problem my friend was made aware that thanks to this approach graphical features were loading after game play begun. He did not care much....but the person making him aware was not happy.
4: Squad AI was better than he remembered from ME3. He pointed out the companions were aggressive and actively using shields when the team was taking damage and whatnit but he made it sound like they were more like the Geth deployable shields from the early ME1. Might have been me interpreting wrong tho. Game play was described as "familiar" and "refined" from ME3.
Sorry, not much in the way of concrete info but eh, thought I'd share."

Please let the synthetic be Androma hardware and software not MWG.
That leaves one spot left for an Androma Organic.

Link to site that copied all data from BioWare Forums- fextralife.com/forums/t61416/oki-know-how-this-is-gonna-sound/I actually hope the synthetic companion is just a temporary companion maybe only needed on certain mission(s). I know it is heresy but I personally don't like toting around a synthetic as a companion. Maybe it is locked to the ship most of the time as in the trailer that synthetic voice was most likely it. Last I heard I thought it was Phe B or Liam that was possibly a throw away companion like Jenkins was in ME1. The Female Turian companions' name may also be known: Vetra

If there are Quarians, there better be Geth too. The established timeline puts the Arks as leaving before the events of ME3. So no Geth, unless Bioware is willing to contravene their established lore again. "They must have snuck in behind us!" They = "true geth."

the recent video combat does show a reegar as a weapon selection, so I would think the quarians may be here in some form, maybe on the nexus, I'm hoping as a companion as well, but I doubt it...

We're getting a Salarian pilot, so why not a Quarian chief engineer? This is very similar to my own thinking. Still, the quarian lovers are eternal optimists and will have none of it. They will hold onto hope until the final DLC has been released, I think, and perhaps beyond. (Assuming we don't actually get a quarian companion.) the recent video combat does show a reegar as a weapon selection, so I would think the quarians may be here in some form, maybe on the nexus, I'm hoping as a companion as well, but I doubt it... I believe I may have actually seen a Reegar in action, late in the trailer. Was that it around 4:34, electrifying the kett? I can't get a good look at it, and I've already closed the app, but it looked like it could've been a Reegar-roasting.

As much I want to see the Geth in Andromeda, I'm on the side of "not gonna happen". Legion and Garrus were go to squaddies late game in ME2. Sniper buddies for life. XD I just don't think there's a good enough reason to include them without garnering enough backlash and criticism to justify risking it. I mean, I can come up with a few ways to explain it but "a quarian a snuck a not-so-deactivated geth on board to study it, and oops it activated!" wouldn't quite do it, I think. I'd be happy with it, but I'm highly biased in this situation. XD
And as much as I liked EDI, she just wasn't the same. Hopefully this new rumored AI companion is unique and interesting enough to hold my attention.
As for Quarians being in the game, maybe not as a squadmate - again as much I hope and prey there is one - I see it more likely to see them bopping about the Nexus and helping keeping the ships in tiptop condition. The one guy in the trailer sounded Quarian enough, Reyes or something? If not a squadmate, maybe a crewmate or someone we speak to often enough to fill the void of a non-squadmate?

Problem with Quarians is, they would be both 1) super useful to the AI because they basically all are pathfinders by nature and 2) rather useless because they are so fragile and in rather poor standing with the other races back when the AI was formed...

Obligatory Abrams pls
Now with that out of the way, the mysterious 'Reyes' may be a Quarian. Seems to be Zevran's voice actor. I'm pretty sure they'll give us a Quarian squadmate considering how popular Tali was. And a male Quarian could be interesting, I really liked Kal'Reegar (and not just because he was voiced by Adam Baldwin).

As soon as he started speaking I thought, "Okay, we have a latino crew member." Then Sara called him Reyes. Case closed, I would have assumed. We shall see, I guess. I do wonder if it's a case of "English as a second language". What immediately jumps out to me as an obvious Spanish accent may not do so for a non-native speaker. I know if roles were reversed, I'd likely jump on the mechanical voice-distortion instead of the accent, as some seem to be doing.

I am sure we ll see quarians scattered here and there. Is it so far fetched that some quarians may have thought to join the Ai as a one-way Pilgrimage imn the hops to find a new home for their people? I am actually shocked the head engineer of Ai isn't a Quarian really. Not hating on Nakmor Kesh , just saying.

Quarians have the funny knee bend, but otherwise are relatively human-like in that regard. This doesn't necessarily look like a turian, to me. It looks like the new species we see just after entering the space port, the guys that have "ear flaps" and that Hanako thought looked sort of like "play-doh" characters. Here, we see one wearing a helmet. The structure of his head and torso is evident: same general shape, but with those flaps along the side of the face. I don't know whether they will prove to be the "Angarans" we hear mentioned, or not. BioWare does love their digitigrade aliens. If you start at the hip or toes and follow the joints up or down, their knees actually bend the same as our knees. It's their ankles being higher up their legs that gives them that strange look. Their foot bones are longer than ours, and they walk on their toes, where as we walk on our feet. Thus, "digitigrade". (We have a plantigrade gait.) It probably wouldn't work well at all in nature, from a body mechanics standpoint, but it makes for an easy alien look.

I like the Quarians and would like them to be in Andromeda but I'd much rather have a new Andromeda species as a squadmate, which is almost a guarantee.
