I'm predicting Quarians are in ME:A. (Spoilers from the Gameplay Trailer)

Very nice find. That certainly could be, though it's hard to say for certain.

So it appears some minor tweaking of the trilogy species' uniforms, height, and body morphology has been made in frostbite. This ^ + this...



...makes me think we may have a male quarian on our team. Maybe a Spanish quarian.

How broad have they made that quarian guys shoulders? Would he be able to fit through a doorway?

I dunno, from the very vague silhouette I can see the leggs look too digitigrade? Kinda what they've done with the Turians. The Kett would fit under that kind of design I think. But I wouldn't say Quarian. 

Who knows maybe we have just one Quarian and its the one guy Mac Walters said didn't have a choice in coming along XD

He's a human male, obviously, as indicated by his name and accent.

Edit: I'm having fun with this, not actually trying to argue with people. Let me make that clear.

Also, I explained before why I think some aren't picking up the accent as definitively as others. I'm a native English speaker. This gives me, and other native speakers, and advantage when identifying assorted accents applied to our native language. The same is true of any language and its native speakers. 

I don't know if the VA is an actual Spanish speaker or not, but his accent sounds South American to me. I'd say Colombian, Venezuelan or Argentinean. It's that clear, even in the brief exchange.

To top it all off, his name is Reyes, a Spanish name. He's not a quarian, guys.

Assuming their feet haven't been retconned the ones in the blurry nexus screenshot are just too flat footed to be a Salarian to me. It doesn't have that bendy posture either. 

Salarians also have more "vertical" heads, with those prongs/horns/crests. The mystery alien, on the other hand, has a flat-topped head and a neck that seems to crane forward. It's a very Geth-like posture, honestly; but I can't conceive of any acceptable reason for Geth to be present, so I'm sticking with quarian or "new guy".

Same here... I must have done more than one time Tali's missions just for him...

I predict no Quarians in this game... or Geth for that matter.

Off topic, but what's the deal with digitigrade legs and four fingered hands? Seems to be the go to foundation for an 'alien' design.

Krogan, Turians, Salarians, Quarians, Geth, Collectors, Vorcha, Protheans, Khet, the (as of yet named muscled blue aliens from the Awards trailer) etc.


Surely the universe is more diverse than to only have this and the "human standard" as the only two body types available?

True. And efficiency does rule ahead of creativity when it comes to game design.

It just seems so, I don't know homogenized/bland, when you see the same alien body types repeated ad nausum throughout multiple franchises. The aliens listed from Mass Effect, the Elites from Halo, the Protoss from Starcraft, etc.

I too am hoping that we will see something that breaks the mold of visual design, but quality writing of an 'alien' alien is more important than appearance (IMO). 

Well I'd be in the minority here, but I would gladly sacrifice a large portion of the romance material for a fully fledged 'alien' companion. For me, I got into Mass Effect because of the interesting aliens I could encounter, not because I wanted to sleep with them.

I hope that MP will see at least part of my wish come true. A playable 'alien' character like a Rachni or Elcor soldier would be most appreciated; something new and unique rather than another human with a retextured skin.
