At least publicly admit they didn't do right by a lot of their fans. Which is absolutely true. No creator needs to apologize for people who don't like the work. Especially if it's a small handful of players who refuse to admit to their own wrongdoing. Don't. Really, don't. If you're concerned that ME:A won't be exactly what you want and that turns you off, then don't buy it. Spend your time enjoying the things you like as opposed to the things you don't.

I love how you keep using the word EXACTLY, like I have a list and if everything on that list isn't checked off, I think the work is garbage. It makes you seem so...righteous...in your indignation. But FYI I don't trust them. Torment: Tides of Numenera comes out next week, and I intend to be thoroughly enjoying it when MEA comes around. So yeah, I trust the Kickstarted indie game more than the AAA franchise game.

I don't get why they should publicy announce that they were wrong with their endings, expecially since there are plenty of people that were fine with the endings and debated about it. I could agree if you meant they should take it back the part about people not understand their endings (which was wrong, because I don't see nothing wrong with disliking them), but they can't in all seriousness say that the endings sucked, regardless if they believe it or not. They'd piss off the people that liked them. I disagree on the topic that Control is basically slavery though. ParaControl doesn't show any signs of that. If we want to talk about still being dangerous, that's fine, but it's another issue of Control then slavery. At least publicly admit they didn't do right by a lot of their fans. Which is absolutely true. And of course, my big question about MEA still hasn't been answered: After ME3 why should I trust them again? Control is slavery. Even if the cage is a gilded one. The galaxy is still developing along the paths the Reapers desire. And yes, it is also dangerous, as it's essentially the same thing the Leviathans tried, only thinking THIS time it will be different. In your case (I have a lot problems with ME3, endings included, but I don't think as much as you), I'd certainly wait for reviews of people that you trust and see if you want to purchase it. They're free to pursue other paths though. ParaControl doesn't seem from what I saw against them finding different solutions and tech beside the Reapers'. Beside, it's not like in destroy they won't pursue that path.

Alright. I don't really see the problem with that though. And how natural is the environment of humans anyway? And by extrapolation, that of any intelligent species or the planets they live on? Oh, perfect moment to place that little excerpt that got me thinking, it is from Blindsight by Peter Watts: "What I'm asking is, are they natural? Could they be constructs?" "Is a termite mound a construct? Beaver dam? Space ship? Of course. Were they built by naturally-evolved organisms, acting naturally? They were. So tell me how anything in the whole deep multiverse can ever be anything but natural?" I tried to keep the irritation out of my voice. "You know what I mean." "It's a meaningless question. Get your head out of the Twentieth Century."
So it is a matter of how far you ready to go with your abstraction. As for animals. I see what you are talking about and it is a sweet and dreamy thought but describe me how much do you envy them. And I'm not speaking about that beloved and satisfied dog or cat of yours. Think about them in general, including those not so happy. How do you envy their level of control of their life, or their breed or their imposed purpose? And even considering those who live the good life. If one day much more intelligent aliens will come to Earth and take control of everything that you are from you specifically for the purpose to satisfy all your needs, to love you, to be entertained by you and to pet you. How much of improvement of you as a human being it will be? I'm willing to go really far. I don't envy them. I don't envy any non-human animal. Be it domesticated or wild. There's barely a multicellular being alive that isn't affected by our existence in some way, and most are drastically so. And even in that sense the domesticated animals are argueably the best off, as they will at least not go extinct. Prohibited we don't kill everything on earth. But at least humans are intelligent, somewhat. We can think about what we do this planet and it's inhabitants. If a bacterium or virus found a way to affect every living cell on earth and kill it for it's reproduction, it absolutely would and we'd all be dead. Cause they don't think, we do. To some extent

As an aside, only ME 1 and (perhaps parts of ME2) are relevant, as we leave. So from a certain perspective, MEA is Mass Effect 2.5 ? And those 'replaying' ahead of MEA just need to play ME and ME2 up to before the derelict Reaper. Sorted.

Once I get to ME3, I pretty much plan on playing til I am sitting there with Anderson. But if I am truly in some sort of vindictive mood, ill Red Nuke everything again. Almost done with ME1, will probably start ME2 sometime this week. Thinking about pre-ordering the Nexus kindle book because I do like the writer for it. He's done a pretty good job on his own series. So Ill see how that turns out.
