Just another game? Andromeda already put ME on that level. No more so than ME3 already had. Do not fool yourself. Despite the end ME 3 was not just another game. The opposite.

ME2 was the best game in the trilogy, period. True. The Lazurus project (How? Resources!), forced working for Cerberus, human reaper, crippled inventory and skill system, planet scanning, minigames and a main plot that was pointless were all masterpieces of story and design. Take out (some) of the characters and ME2 really loses it's lustre.

What's the problem? Stasis pods are a thing in the MEU. Who the heck would accept to sleep for 600 years? And with races who live for 1000 years? Not me. Then I guess you could wander around the ship with nothing to do and noone to talk to (except maybe SAM) until you expire. Those in stasis would find your corpse when they are revived.

No more so than ME3 already had. Do not fool yourself. Despite the end ME 3 was not just another game. The opposite. Bah, you're right. As much as I disliked the ending (and the beginning), I still enjoyed the majority of the game. with Andromeda, I don't judge it against the trilogy, that would be unfair. I judge it against ME1. It's worse in some regards, better in others. Either way, with both games, I liked the character (Shepard/Ryder) enough to filter out the things that didn't work for me. ME1 definitely has the edge in terms of the supporting characters, and MEA takes a hit against it for its faux open world, but beyond that, there's not a great deal in it. Certainly not enough for me to deem one game to be a true ME game and the other not.

Take out (some) of the characters and ME2 really loses it's lustre. I really don't understand this perverse obsession with ME2. It admittedly improved on the combat of ME1 and had some great characters. But otherwise, it was a step backwards in almost every regard. Other than the great opening, the suicide mission, and the soundtrack, ME2 was boring, tedious, and a drag. It's honestly probably my least favorite BioWare game out of the entire franchise (Andromeda included).

no, forget the milky way and no new protagoist, just Ryder for Andromeda and IF there is a new protagonist, i'd like to have the possibility to choose species too This. BioWare have made it crystal clear that there is no ME3 canon. I think the chances of that changing are close to nil.

The problem with any new story is working out what the players motivation/role is in context of actual game play (travelling, fighting, gathering resources). If you have a ship,a crew that follows and enough status to get access to the game world then any new character needs to have some importance. In ME your a spectre agent,a cerberus agent and in DA your the grey warden, the Inquisitor etc......so in MEA,unless your a pathfinder....your what???......who would have enough influence,,power and access to resources other than a pathfinder???

(Ignoring the agenda.) Its actually a fair point, they've already changed the endings once with the extended cut. And chop and change other things seemingly on a whim. You could say theres no real reason not to do again.

I think that further Andromeda games should also have the current crew returning. Garrus and Tali took shape on ME2 more than ME1, the main protagonist started to be seen as a relevant name and even the Normandy felt more home (true, it was a new ship), particularly after taking time to upgrade it (an element that should be back at some point, I think).
The game hints at a very nice number of unexplored sides on the characters and even the Ryder twins, so it would be nice to develop them further; perhaps in themes that are not necessarly exploration but perhaps power play, politics, diplomacy and so on.

I don't think we'll get a different PC next game. I sure hope not. I want to see the Family Secrets carried over into the next round and not solved via DLC in this one.

Tali story alone was enough. There is nothing like that on andromeda I thought Mordin's was the best of the lot there. Fighting the geth in ME2, heck fighting synthetics at all, was kind of annoying.

I disagree. I like the Andromeda's premise, story and protagonist. More so than chain memory losses, serial corruptions and redemptions and space resurrections. And, Revan spent 200 or 300 years in captive stasis. AND overwritten game's endings and player's character. BioWARE's worst handling of a protagonist was canonizing Revan. The last thing BioWare should ever do is take choice away from the player. Revan was a mishandling of epic proportions. Not only did BioWare destroy Revan's character, but they also simultaneously destroyed the Exile! SWTOR has a lot of problems, but one of the biggest flaws was destroying those two characters and taking away what they meant to us, the players. I don't want to ever see something like that happen ever again. Yes. And I am actually more bitter about the Exile, but at least she was not actually paraded in front of us, just implied.

Cause Bioware are a buncha pussies who want to please everyone instead of making potentially abrasive decisions.
Given what we saw of Shepard's character in ME1 destroy canon is exactly what he'd do.

A new protag for the next game is great if the current is a lame.
Connor from AC3 was a dimwit so Ubisoft gave us his grandfather next. Excellent decision.
You know most people don't like Ryder. Andromeda is rated low by users outside of this Mass Effect loving community. Lotta people on this board are in love with ME and will justify anything in the series.
People outside of this super pro-Mass Effect community will call the bullshit out for what it is.

Saw someone mention the family secrets and it got me thinking. I suppose they could both do a time leap and keep the Ryder twins. After any upcoming DLC shove them back in cryo so they can wait on a cure to be found for their mother. Fast Forward a couple dozen or hundred years and bring all 3 of them back. Yeah, not what I would prefer either but it wouldn't be totally out of left field. We do exactly that to some other npc's throughout the game.
