Here's what I don't understand.
ME1 had certain armor lines that were hazard suits. Why the heck couldn't we have a hazard suit for Andromeda. Can be researched and made just like any of the other armors, except it has only one level, and the helmet comes with a mod slot, the chest (which is a full body suit like Helus Defender Armor) comes with 2. No innate stat bonuses, but when worn as a set, eliminates all hazards from environmental effects up to level 2. Oh, and we'll also have a researchable mod, returns 2 when researched: incorporating this mod when constructing armor raises the hazard level protected by 1.
Bam. 3 things to research, hazards protected up to level 3. No fuss, no muss, carry on about your business.

Thank god you made this post, I was about to create a very long rant on why life support is unnecessary on -41 or even minus 50. I live in Winnipeg MB Canada, and minus -41 is more or less the average temperature here from mid November to mid February, it was absolutely mind boggling to see my life support deplete over weather that isn't even that bad.
Seriously though you'd think Bioware Montreal would be smarter than that considering the temperature in Montreal probably reaches around -40 during the winter.

Thank you I'm glad my topic was useful I know, those Cold Hazards are really annoying: they make no sense and they also make the gameplay less fun. We can't even stand 5 minutes in the snow without depleting life support. Seriously, they should have better tech. In ME1 it made more sense since the Hazards were triggered by much lover temperatures (Mavigon was Level 1 Hazard and it had a temperature of -124°C) and we also had Hazard Armors like the Devlon Industries ones Here's what I don't understand. ME1 had certain armor lines that were hazard suits. Why the heck couldn't we have a hazard suit for Andromeda. The were the Devlon Industries armors and it makes no sense to not have such tech in Andromeda. I think they would say most of those tech were military grade and the Andromeda Initiative is not military (I guess that's one of the explanation they give for the fact weapons behave differently: they also hint at that in the descriptions) but it appear it had no problem in finding other military grade stuff, so the whole Cold Hazard matter makes little sense in Andromeda.

Montreal is a little warmer than Ottawa, and we sometimes get -30. But still, yeah a hazard at -40 is just silly.
