As any theory which involves TIME, I'm sold and I love it. As any theory which involves TIME, I think in terms of narrative could be a complete DANGER for the next game's plot . Once you put "time" in scene, that easily can evolve into a sort of "deus ex machina". However, regarding to the gravity well you mention (referred in the first cinematic trailer) it would be AWESOME if we can see the Andromeda's past through some gravity wells. (Like Flashbacks but lorewise where you can watch the beginning of Kett empire, first Angara, etc.)

Obliviousmiss , I'm probably in the minority here, I have no interest in sexing him. I'm more so interested in his species/why he wants to work with the Pathfinder. Plus, this race looks pretty cool tbh. I like new shiny things. This. I'm in the even smaller minority that would not care if Bioware cut sex out completely, but for people who want it, I certainly don't mind that it's there. For me, I'm much more interested in the actual romance when I decide who my character might pursue. I romanced Garrus in the MET and it hit me dead center in my sappy, cheesy, romantic heart. There were a lot of different things that sold me on that romance. The friends to lovers to more theme, especially. By the end of the triology, it just felt so... right. There was also the whole coming from different cultures, not to mention Turians being Dextro. There's a lot that has to be worked around and comprises have to made. It wouldn't be an easy romance (even if Shep and Garrus made it look that way XD). Garrus was also incredibly supportive and never abandoned Shepard. Kaidan kinda bored me to death. Jacob also didn't interest me, and while I love Thane, he never really clicked as a possible romantic partner for my Shepard. Joker was the only human guy I desperately wanted to romance and ME3 only gave us a massively disappointing "in another lifetime, Commander." TAT Mordin would have been a fun romance, I think. Javik was pretty damn nice, too. Wouldn't have minded him being an option outside of the one night stand thing they gave us. That's kind of my MO when it comes to the guys I've liked in ME games. The aliens always wind up being more interesting to me not counting Joker. But back to the question asked, Jaal interests me for a number of reasons. I do like his design, and I have to admit those eyes of his caught me completely off guard. XD I've been super interested in learning anything about the new races, and while I was originally hoping for a Kett squadmate, I'm not even a little bit disappointed after Jaal's entrance. Will he be the quietly curious type? A proud, stern individual interested in protecting his people's welfare? Maybe a soldier looking for revenge on the Kett and we are a means to an end? I think the sheer amount of mystery is what draws me in the most right now. He's this big unknown and I want to know mooooooore. That I find him pretty and cool looking is just a bonus at this point. XD (For further reference, my other interests in MEA right now, are Kallo, Reyes, and possibly Liam. Kallo is adorable, Reyes' voice can kill, and Liam seems like a fun dude so far. Jaal is def at the start of the line, though.) ^ME TOO I think sex is one of the most difficult "actions" to show in any entertainment media (TV, film, book, videogame...). What someone finds extremely sexy, other people can find it extremely cheesy or un-sexy. That's why I tend to prefer the sex is implicit not explicit. However, I'm a great conformist. So if we have some kind of explicit alien sex I would giggle all day and re watching the scene in secret BTW, very happy to see so much JAAL love. This thread is a marvel. Sorry to be so absent but you people rock

Am i the only one that thinks the voice of PeeBee doesn't actually match her character? i mean, i don't even know much of the voice acting for her but after seeing this interview i became a little...confused. Don't know why exatcly but i find that Liara's voice matched her character much more than that, the same for other characters, specially Shepard and Mordin and Legion . I do like very much the voice of Scott, Sara and Alec Ryder, even Liam's one but pebee...hmm guess i'll have to get used to it Yeah. It's the same for me. I like the VA that does PeeBees voice from what I've seen, but I don't think her voice fits the character that well. It doesn't bother me, but yeah I think it's something I'll have to get use to as well. It also probably might change once we see more of PeeBee. So my opinion might change once I see more of PeeBee in action. I think it's perfect. Her VA sounds like a mature interesting person with Courtney Taylor's (aka: Subject Zero) vibes. Like a happy Jack. At the same time, she is kinda young (what she says, her attitude...) She is young for Asari standards (200-300 years) but really OLD for Human standards. So, I think her VA encapsulates that double nature (a young mature, an old young...) pretty well. Or it's just me fangirling, I don't know, I LOVED JANE IN THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 2 OKEY????

Annnnnd Bioware is kicking themselves for NOT doing this as their tutorial mission. lol Well thought out. I loved it. Well, I'm glad to see even with different theories all of us agree the "YOU ARE SPECIAL" treatment is kinda overused. And I agree with you fialka , maybe we end up like the Pathfinder waaaay later in the game. The problem is we know we have to be the squad leader of missions pretty soon in game. So... what kind of justification they will use?

Christopher Columbus was a monster of a human being that considered indigenous peoples to be sub-human playthings. It's hard to treat anything he did, even the good things, with any degree of reverie or awe. He doesn't deserve fanfare, and the only thing remarkable was his cruelty.More to the point its not like exploring Andromeda and exploring the Milky Way are mutually exclusive ventures. Some people can stay local and explore... some want to go to Andromeda. Our story just happens to focus on the latter group. For me the most important thing about all of it is... no Reapers. If the people and resources for the AI were instead routed to exploring more of the MW, then we'd still have to deal with the Reapers. media.giphy.com/media/awpqNsKuFtXI4/giphy.gifEdit: 500th post. Apparently I am a God now. *CHEESE FOR EVERYONE* And CONGRATS Hrungr for all the views! And CONGRATS EVERYONE! PAGE 600!!! Coming back from the dark JUST TO SAY THIS. IGN once again is being IGN, assuming, and not researching. www.ign.com/wikis/mass-effect-andromeda/Sex_and_Romance On December 3rd: Nat @dank_Dragons @macwalterslives So wait... is it true that all romances will be available regardless of Ryder's gender? Mac Walters @macwalterslives No. Romance options vary depending on whether you play as Scott or Sara. So I've been flagging their page and correcting their gross mistake. The comments are all raging about it being "DA2" all over again. If you could be so kind to go over there and help flag it with the source provided.....much appreciated! DAMN IT IGN! YOU ONLY HAD ONE JOB!!!

I think it'd be a good twist if Archon turned out to be a good guy (overzealous but still good) and is just trying to stop some Remnant doomsday weapon or something. If in the end WE are the bad guys or even the lovely Angara ARE the bad guys, I would be pleased. I want a plot twist. Plus, what if in the end we have freaking Archon as squadmate? I mean, we have his Funko figure. Maybe he is like Legion, he joins later in the party when the plot twist (JienIsEvil! WeAreTheBadGuys! TheAngaraPlayedUs) happens

Doesn't sound bad, but somehow it feels "gamey" to me. As does whole profile thing though. I don't think that will happen. While it's an interesting theory, the latest briefing tell us that all members of the pathfinder's team already have SAM. They all have Sam, but Sam doesn't have all. Only Pathfinder has full stack of implants, the rest just have connection. In case anyone forgot "It sees and feels as Ryder does, providing him... list-of-stuff... All members of Pathfinder team receive implants allowing them to communicate directly with Sam." Yes! (English is not my first language so probably I lost a lot of content, but) the way I understood the briefing only the Pathfinders have the ability of switching and using all profiles regarding the implant. However, if all the crew already have connection with SAM through implants (but we don't have the Pathfinder program installed) it would be easier if Dad Ryder orders SAM to download the Pathfinder Program in you. I don't know, maybe it's me trying to avoid the "special snowflake" treatment. If the five Pathfinders have that profile switching, at least Playable Ryder wouldn't be so special as Shepard (I touched the Beacon) was. Anyway, I'm really enjoying all the comments and theories In addition, ivory Samoan I think you are right when you point out that maybe we get the Pathfinder position late in the game, the same way we know we will use the N7 armor at some point.

I didn't know where to post this. I looked for a similar topic in General discussion and also in character's subsection. I didn't find any.
I read some theories here in this forum which tried to explain the reason why we presumably end as the Pathfinder instead of Cora: SAM choosing us, our father KIA or MIA, space magic, the power of parent love... I've been thinking about it and this is my theory: What if DadRyder transfers SAM to us in order to save us during the first mission? The first mission usually is the "tutorial" one. There are two possible escenarios: 1) Reconnaissance mission. Our father goes solo to Habitat 7 and we go too with our squad. Maybe we lead or, presumably, Cora leads or squad. 2) Before that reconnaissance mission there is some kind of accident (as Gamespot pointed out) maybe we end on a planet relying on ourselves, maybe Liam is also there. We try to re-establish communication with our father, and he tells us he is also on the planet looking for us. The thing is at some point during that first mission (where tutorial shows us how to shoot and use basic soldier powers) we find an enemy we simply can't defeat. Maybe a big space bear/ Feid. Liam (and Cora if she is also present) are down and we are on our own. Dad Ryder is trying to instruct us through the comm, but he quickly realizes you won't win or survive to that fight. For example: you are a soldier by default and you run out of bullets. You have no melée weapon yet. Your only way to survive this is with another profile (adept, vanguard, engineer...) but you don't have the skill. That's why somehow he transfers SAM to you. He gives you the program in order to save you. That way also you as a player learn the basic of that profile change Pathfinder implants allow. Tutorial. Thanks to this, you survive to the fight. However, the communication with Alec Ryder is lost. When you arrive to the rendez-vous point, there are signs of violence and his helmet. He is MIA and pressumed dead. Also, as SAM successfully was transfered to your soldier's implants or whatevs, you are in fact the Pathfinder instead of Cora. Maybe at first that is only a title because Cora still in charge. Maybe in Nexus nobody approves what your father did (in order to save you) although without that decision you and your team would be dead. Also, bonus points if Alec Ryder is not dead during the game, you slowly realize that and also more bonus if he keeps something of SAM technology and he goes rogue on his own. Well, this was my theory. If you don't like it I have more

But could Liam be related to Anderson? A son of his sister, hence a different last name. "You know, my uncle David..." If that is the case, I just HOPE they don't overuse past references. I mean, I hope we don't end having: 1) Cora as The Illusive Man's daughter 2) Liam as Anderson's nephew 3) Vetra as Garrus' Flexibility girl 4) Drack as Wrex' grandfather and Grunt surrogate father 5) Peebee as the other Aethya's daughter with a Hanar 6) Kallo as Mordin's nephew and Kirrahe bestie 7) Jaal as... well, being new species and so saves him, unless... he and the Angaran are the great great great great great great great great x50.000 times descendent of Javik or some Protheans refugees I mean: one of those examples is fine, two is probably too much but three and more coincidences like that more than a wink to old players breaks immersion

It's official. We like Jaal because we like the unusual and non-humans that are usually sweet with big hearts and unique looks. I 'd say for me it began with Beauty and the Beast. Look up the 90's version with Ron Perlman and then look at Jaal.OMG!! ARE YOU MYSELF IN THE OTHER SIDE OF MY COMPUTER SCREEN?????

I shiped Max and Chloe SO HARD Also, someone said Peebee reminds him/her to a happy Jack. So your connection with Chloe is not so far IMO

That's a really cute picture But you change avatars more often than I change my hair (Okay, that's not true, I can't help but mess with my hair (I want waist long hair for my Ryder >_<)...aaand that sounded better in my heas ) YEP. It's a fashion I had the last days tho. I usually stay with my avatar like forever (unless someone else uses the same picture, then I feel I had to change it). But now I intend to be less active in the forum (expect for the Twitter Thread) so fortunately I will stop my avatarlypse... for some time

Personally I thought Kaidan and male Shep was more adorable in ME3 because they had a friendship that had rough patches and grew into something more over time that male Shep had no idea about because Kaidan never let on (unlike female Shep and Kaidan where he was too obvious especially when you first go to the Citadel in ME1). Same with female Shep and Garrus. It felt more real. I feel this, too, but that's not saying that Kaidan is just more compatible or "better" with male Shep than female Shep... obviously he is equally attracted to both! But yeah just as the story was written, I prefer male Shep. That is EXACTLY how I feel and that's the reason why my canon FemSheps end with Garrus and my canon MalSheps end with Alenko. Although all my respect for FemShepxKaidan pairing. They are cute as fuck too.

Maybe there is some kind of improvisation in the middle of the Dad crisis. Maybe Cora is not around and we are forced to use our Dad's implant in order to survive the first mission, and then... well, you are technically the Pathfinder because the installation of the SAM implant has been completed.
