More like they're implementing a lot of Mass Effect mechanics to Dragon Age. Not that this is a bad thing since Mass Effect has fun combat, but I wonder how Dragon Age will adapt. So far, I like it. Especially now that you can control your finishing moves. One thing I disliked about Origins, is that the executions were random often popping up at the worst possible moments.

Is that a power from the Titans? Interesting Bioware would show something like that if it's true.

Bioware needs to stop beating up my love: Harding! There seems to be a pattern! HOW DARE YOU HURT THAT BEAUTIFUL DWARF! Looks like she was beaten up because you (Rook) brought up into greater danger (the game warns you about it) in your first mission! No, it's Bioware who keeps doing it!

To be honest, for a fantasy game about a war with ancient gods from a demon realm. I'm not sure 'realism' is the hill to die upon... I can't wait after release, I'm expecting a bunch of people will be complaining about the ancient elven gods power level being way too much for the settings because they always considered it to be low fantasy instead of the high fantasy setting that it was. We can thank Drakon's Chantry for the misconception. Dragon Age was always a High Fantasy with Low Fantasy elements. There's a difference lol. It's like ASOIAF, it starts off low fantasy but progressively becomes more magical as the series goes on.

Shield block, block&slash, parry, barrier, combat roll, evade, fade steps were all actives abilities you have to slot in one of the 8 slots in DAI. And half of those are basically mandatory (evade, fade steps, barrier, shield block) and the other half so clunky to use that few use them (block&slash, parry, combat roll). This is a big QoL improvement, but some people act like they lost something because they can't slot their "barrier" skill anymore just because they always have it available on their mage in DAI (and it's single target and work more like DAO Shield spells but whatever). And there is only light attacks in DAI. If you wanted a weapon attack with more oomph to it, you had to slot an active ability like mighty blow, shield bash, twin fangs, etc. Jump attacks are entirely new. You can't even attack while jumping in DAI. Because we are talking about mage and spell-based combat specifically, and everything you list sounds like things for martial characters. Why mention jump attacks or weapon attacks with more oomph in response to some saying they don’t have enough spells? It just highlights that the combat was designed for martial characters. More like Mages have more options to deal with getting pounced now through a melee attack or a simple dodge.

They should've made it free to play, 40 dollars on a genre that's been on the decline out for years is not a good idea. Especially when the most notable game in the hero shooter: Overwatch 2 is most known for its egregious FOMO, questionable pricing on skins and controversial decisions such as shutting down PvE after cancelling the original game because of they wanted to develop said mode.

So we have some more information on Bellara. It is noticeable that, unlike Davrin, they say nothing about her time as a Dalish. I think the comment someone made on the Schmooples thread about her being Merrill mark 2 is sounding increasingly likely. Probably more confident than Merrill but a similar obsession with the artifacts of ancient Elvhenan. I hope it doesn't lead to tears like it did for Merrill. Bellara is creative, romantic, and obsessed with uncovering the secrets of ancient Elvhenan. She has a strong sense of self – a clear idea of who she is and what she wants – and will push herself to her limits to find the answers she seeks.ugh not another Merrill You hate Merrill?!:

So for the Spellblade talent, you can't use a dagger one hand and a staff in the other? Doesn't look like it. Their free hand is worked into the various combat animations. Still going to play Spellblade though.

I think that's the problem, the people who are politically active generally aren't going to be attracted to a hero shooter. Some are but they're part of an already small but vocal group of people.

What is 'mundane warrior' tho? Because to me, the warriors and rogues have been doing things that are simply impossible in virtually every DA game. Example - someone on another thread said that they'd like the shield throw to be a real throw, instead of what is basically an energy spectre... but to throw a shield and it do *anything* effectively and then return to the owner like a boomerang... that's not something that would happen AT ALL if this was just a a "mundane" skill. It's just wholly impossible, and we need more than mildly bending physics (or human strength) to achieve that. Also, um... it seems that quite a big deal is being made from Harding gaining unexpected magical powers? I'm not sure if it's just something specifically happening to her, but it's very possible that due to Rook and Companions going through what they did, all of them become inherently magical, regardless of what happens with Thedas at large. Seeing people talking about how everyone is a bit of a mage now is kinda funny, because rogue could literally turn invisible in previous games. It just was done without flashy special effects. Remember in Dragon Age Inquisition, where you were able to simultaneously attack enemies from all angles as a Rogue? There was always an element of superhuman feat in the Dragon Age world.

dannyh32806Question (if you can answer) . the spellblade specialization. Is it a duel dagger build or a dagger/orb build? I know you guys mentioned it's more like a rogue/mage class. I'm SO excited for this game! Thanks for all you do. Its not unnoticed. ☺️ corinne_at_lastThe Mage Spellblade uses an elemental orb in one hand and a spellblade dagger in the other. The orb is short to medium range, while the dagger is short range but can cleave. These two weapons have some interesting interactions between one another, but we’ll save that level of detail for a bit later on 😉 32bitrepThat's a shame. I usually pick the spellblade for a warrior/mage experience. I don't enjoy all the slash and spin of rogue attacks. I will look forward to more info later on. corinne_at_lastYou might favor the Warrior Reaper Specialization in that case. So for the Spellblade talent, you can't use a dagger one hand and a staff in the other?

That said, if you love introducing your enemies to the perils of gravity, you have ways of doing that with other classes too. 🙂 - Lol... awesome. Oh boy I cannot wait! Looks like the Duke ... has fallen from grace .
(Mind you, I'm sure I'll be backflipping my way into the void often enough myself. The archer's Long Shot in DAI is paritcularly bad for that.)

See also Palpatine from the Sequel Trilogy. There were a lot of people theorizing about his return in the sequels and his relation to Rey. Bottom line just because one does not like a reveal does not mean a franchise should be 'ruined.' The issue people have with these sorts of twists is they can make the world at large feel smaller, like everything has to be connected and drawn back to references from the original source. I definitely felt that with the Palpatine crap; I don't have a problem with old god reveal in same manner, but can understand why someone else might feel that way. Sure, don't wish for everyone to get fired though.

Spartan Kick meets Warden kick. I'm curious what the upper bounds of that ability is. It'd be hilarious if we could yeet some of the smaller Bosses off ledges. This will be me first playthrough!:

A good comment (IMO) from the DA Community Council member. Kala Elizabeth @kalaelizabethI know people are surprised at how many spoilers have been revealed about Dragon Age Veilguard. BUT spoilers were always inevitable (BG3 even had the final fight in their trailers) so watching stuff is at your own risk! I think they just feel comfortable with what they have still saved as surprised (I know a few things and yeah, people are in for a treat!) but please be kind. I understand people don't want spoilers but don't be rude to the devs or to people openly talking about what has been revealed as everyone's threshold for spoilers is different! #DragonAge Kinda wished that the devs didn't explain what was going on and allowed us to make our own guesses/theories though.
