How would you list the basic human classes in terms of increased difficulty? If it helps I am a standard all thumbs kind of player that always does ranged classes, 'cause melee is way too hard.
Is it going something like:
Engineer, Adept, Soldier, Sentinel, Vanguard and Infiltrator?

All Basic Human kits can be absolute beasts and can't be listed in a particular order as they all depend on the map, the weapons they have, the ammo they use and the enemy they fight.
The Sentinel is the most boring to me though.

Also depends on your aim. The soldier and infiltrator are not as forgiving if you're a bad shot.
If you're a good shot, they're gold ready with a mantis.

Is it going something like:
Engineer, Adept, Soldier, Sentinel, Vanguard and Infiltrator? I cannot do such a classification as I totally love the Human Vanilla classes and I consider them all OP. You just have to learn some basic playing tricks (see the Guide to new players or go to Kalence) and you will be good to go. If you really are the "standard all thumbs player" probably the most difficult class for you will be the Vanguard since it's the most hands-on class; the easiest will be the Soldier and the Infiltrator.

They are all very good as have been pointed out above.
Most difficult in the beginning would be the Vanguard as they require a bit more timing, and it's one of the more difficult kits to play on Platinum, the Vanguards also suffers to most off-host so make sure you host if you play them.
At the start you're best off with the power damage kits, especially the basic adepts since you then can do a lot of damage not relying on the guns you use, the Soldier and infiltrator are excellent but highly weapon dependant.

Of course I read the guide Yes, of course I am a bad shot! I do want to get better & play through all the classes, but overall, I feel that I have a long bright future in Bronze Tier as an Engineer So, it looks like maybe it is: Engineer, Adept, Sentinel (?), Soldier, Infiltrator, Vanguard then?

I love the Engineer its good because I think tech explosions increase in damage the higher difficulty you go or something like that... I think... dont take my word for it but im sure someone told me that at some point Anyhow, the engineer is my favorite class in the game hands down and it has the benefit of like not being weapon-based so its good no matter what weapons you have... I just take a locust which gives me a quick cooldown It also has the benefit of combat drone... so you have a little friend to help you Also ive been dragged (by sadists) to platinum before and I used the engineer and because im nowhere near platinum-level-good (silver tops) I just died and chain overloaded everything... chain overload is super useful because even if youre out of your depth when it comes to difficulty you can contribute by stunning things I love chain overload its my favorite power in the game Ive actually never used the sentinel at all and ive tried the vanguard once... im actually not a fan of the vanguard its like youre constantly... living on the edge I guess constantly recharging your shields just to get rid of them again and it causes me to die often because sometimes biotic charge doesnt work I love the adept though thats awesome a lot like the engineer but a biotic version but without a little friend to help you... but yeah explosions and stuff happen The infiltrator I love I mean just use a Mantis and its great on silver on gold it starts to uh... I dont know... like it doesnt feel to do enough basically in comparison with something like the Widow even at I when the Mantis is like X... so id say if youre gonna use it for gold you should take some armor piercing ammo and a sniper rifle amp III just to be sure you can do enough damage. The thing is with infiltrators what I dont like is having 2 powers which kinda fight for cooldowns. With the human infiltrator it has tactical cloak, cryo blast and sticky grenade and what I feel happens is cryo blast slows things down... kinda. You have 2 choices basically you can either cryo blast an enemy then use tactical cloak then shoot (at which time the enemy might have gone or rolled or done something)... or tactical cloak then cryo blast then shoot but cryo blast deactivates tactical cloak... so personally I go for the grenades because they do quite a lot of damage and theyre good against things like brutes although lots of people would probably disagree with me but eh The soldier im not really a fan of. Because on my pc and ps3 I dont have a great deal of weapons at high levels... it doesnt deal enough damage. Something like the Avenger or eventhe uncommon weapons like the Vindicator just dont do enough on higher difficulties... it would be good with like... I dont know... a weapon which deals a lot of damage that I dont have yet (which I hope exists) but even with the damage boost that adrenaline rush gives it just feels definitely lacking with all the guns I use... I find the Turian Soldier a little better but im not generally a fan of the soldier class (apart from the Juggernaut of course )... the problem is that theyre weapon based and when you havent got so good weapons theyre just not damaging enough in comparison with something like an infiltrator (even though its weapon based tactical cloak is awesome and the mantis deals a lot of damage anyway). So yup those are my thoughts on the basic classes

Off host Drell Vanguard is the easiest imo. Off host shooting is easier, because the enemies get stupid and your shots get registered 0.5 seconds later if you're using hit-scan weapons, just because your cross-hairs were at the right spot Off-host Infiltrators are super easy, because enemies seem to forget you much faster and ignore you for longer after de-cloaking.

Erm... why does hosting impact the gameplay? Does the party host get higher threat?

Easiest for a beginner is infiltrator followed by the soldier. Just spec for survivability instead of damage output. Sentinel is a tank and is probably the third easiest. Engineer is probably the next easiest because of combat drone. Then you have the adept which is good when you learn to use singularity. Vanguard is probably the hardest at first BUT it becomes one of the easier kits once you get used to it. It's basically two button spam with a little bit of knowing what not to charge at and dancing around the fringes with nova.

Erm... why does hosting impact the gameplay? Does the party host get higher threat? Hosting is important for Vanguards and Adepts like Fury. Just because eveything is more responsive and your powers work and are visible. Off-host your powers frequently don't fire off in time or become invisible. But hosts also have to deal with Phantom damage reduction from hit-scan weapons while they are moving. So playing on host and firing a whole clip of Typhoon into a Phantoms face and for her to not die is pretty common, while off-hosters can take her down with a lvl 1 Shuriken in couple of bursts (slight exaggeration) And yes. Because the calculations are done on the hosts computer - he becomes the primary target, just because the A.I. will react much faster to his actions. And if he's playing on less than 60 FPS on PC - the off-host players can basically walk past enemies and not get hit.

Okay, I think once I manage to place Singularity where it actually may impact the enemies rather then putting it safely waaay out of the way, I will try Sentinel, then the Infiltrator, b/c my weapon choices are not exactly awesome for a Soldier, and my mind firmly links stealth classes with hard-to-play.

You only need to have "orange brackets" around the enemy to target them with powers, so the Singularity should track them if you do that. You can of course place it in the doorways to lay a trap.

2Me, Infiltrator is the easiest class.....somethings scares you, cloak & run away from the monster and lead it to someone else.
I also feel some classes have more success against certain enemies...for instance...every god damn time i'm a biotic and search for U/U...and get Geth..is always a tough fight...as opposed to rolling Reapers or Collectors with an adept = cake walk.
Engineers dominate geth & cerberus.
Vanguards are, meh x's 1000...Im really over the whole charging thing. cept 4 me Slayer...cuz it's me Slayer.

Cabal - buggy, but fun Smashdept - harder, but rewarding Broguard - boring to me.

Ah, the RNG gods believe that I am a melee supernova, as they thoughtfully provided me with a Krogan Warlord and Asari Vanguard so far in the non-human department. It's a vote of confidence, of course

So far I started with an Engineer which is supposed to be the easiest, and next leveled an Adept (so far to level 12). How would you list the basic human classes in terms of increased difficulty? If it helps I am a standard all thumbs kind of player that always does ranged classes, 'cause melee is way too hard. Is it going something like: Engineer, Adept, Soldier, Sentinel, Vanguard and Infiltrator? hi domi, if I try to put myself in your shoes, actually try to remember the game when I started, the most significant factor is that you are just now starting to learn the game mechanics. The difficulty (or rather ease) of classes changes a lot as you start to learn the "house rules", like using cover, enemy movements, how to lead them, how they track you, shield/health gate, spawns, stagger, reload cancel, powers, combos, etc. etc. 1 Considering you are just starting, on bronze (preferably Cerberus or Geth) the most forgiving class is the Vanguard. As said you keep your distance and if anyone sneaks up on you biotic charge bails you out, you are invulnerable in the charge, damages and knocks back enemies, restores your shield, gives you time to GTFO. Straightforward. I'm sure I did my first bronze solo with a vanguard (o yeah, it was stylish green ). Problem with the Reapers and Collectors is the DOA charge, Banshees and Praetorians can sync kill you at the end of your charge, you are literally dead on arrival. 2 Next is probably the Infiltrator class, cloak allows you to avoid agro (assuming you are not soloing) and escape most situations. Then you learn how to (not) use cloak, attack from cloak, use powers from cloak and manage your cooldown from cloak and the class will be a beast. 3 For the rest of the classes some cover basics is preferred (starting with not standing in the open) e.g. you know how to not get shot, but with that they are all cruising great. Engineer, Adept check power combos and rule the battlefield. Sentinel, similar but also check out what Tech Armor can do (a must see). Soldier, learn to reload cancel, brash up your aim and Bob's your uncle! (on bronze )
